Sorry I should have clarified.  When I said Bioware sucks I was trying to fit in with the common rabble here who freak out everytime a new screen shot is released.  I heard that because Ashley has her hair down your choices from Mass Effect 1 won't matter.

For the record.  I don't think Bioware sucks and I think you were correct in assuming that it's entirely possible she'll put on armor after the opening of the game.

Agreed. I think some people are taking realism in a game too far, here. She looks good yet she's still a badass. That's enough for me.

I loved Ash's armoured look in both ME1 & 2, as she looked like a woman who could kick ass and take care of herself; and while I do like the fact she has her hair down this time, the catsuit I'm really unsure of. To me she looked a lot better when armoured to the nines, and as a soldier class it made sense for her to be so.

Now though it makes me go "wait what?"- why would a soldier run around in tight fitting 'latex' instead of reinforced armour? Even if said tight fitters had some element of reinforced plating/weave to them, it still doesn't seem to fit the sort of character she came across as in ME1&2.

I'll take it with a grain of salt though- as it stands Shepard & Anderson weren't exactly fully kitted out when escaping from Earth so I'm hoping that very same logic is applied to Ashley; she just didn't have the time to grab the right gear before the Reapers invaded.

Ash's new armor is nothing like that at all.


We don't have any real good shots of her yet, but if anything her new spectre armor is more medium ME1 armor than light ME1 armor. If I remember correctly shields and barriers do a large majority of the protecting in the lore. I'm sure bigger armor adds some sort of additional protection, but really it probably comes down to whether or not you want that relatively minimal boost in protection or added mobility that lighter armor gives you. As for the heels, as someone pointed out above, they make regular shoes with raised backs to them. As long as she's not tramping around the battlefield with stilletos I really don't care. Her spectre gear is more than fine.

Her hair on the other hand, is certainly a bit odd, but I'm not going to dump my favorite character because of an odd hair style. Really as long as they keep her personality intact I don't care.

I have never understood those demanding realism in these games.  Mostly because of how schizophrenic their demands are.  Having giant sentiant killer robots is totally cool but don't you dare make me use THERMAL CLIPS.

You've got physics breaking spaceflight?  Cool but I'm gonna be pissed if someone walks in a vaccuum with a mask on.

I've got a thirty to forty hour adventure ahead of me.  Awesome, even though Shepard never bathes, eats or poops.  But that's cool.

I just want realism Bioware.  But only the realism as I define it.

Ashley's pink and white armor is practically her trademark, like Garrus'. I'm pretty sure she'll get to wear it again : )

If, however, Ashley, a self proclaimed independent woman and soldier to the core, does indeed fight with hair in her eyes and latex suit with high heels no less.... no, no Bioware wouldn't. They just wouldn't.

She has running shoes, well more "combat shoes" with large heels. I have a pair of all purpose shoes I guess I would call them. Good for hiking, work, running, like any soldier would need, and they have an inch or so heel for cushion and just support. From the picture that Nohvarr has shown us it looks like my exact pair of shoes, except in blue. Where you guys see heel its not a high heel its just a reinforced heel. Stop jumping to conclusion taht she will have hooker boots and run into battle in a bikini

They are very functional. I have a buddy in the army, only the canadian army but i mean it still a good army (stop the crazy assuming, its  called sarcasm guys) and guess what they are given to wear. Combat boots (large work boots) winter combat boots (large work boots insulated). And combat shoes, which low and behold look alot like what ash is wearing, except they are green. So stop assuming you guys know everything about everything. The game isnt released, they arent high heels, it aint a catsuit.

I dont mind the outfit, it looks pretty cool
Its the hair thats putting me off. Funny, most people think the opposite. Im too used to seing her with a neat bun.
I doubt this is casual wear guys, i think this is ehr final look.
