I think Ashley's new armor looks awesome, and not because it screams "hey look how sexed up I am!" which I don't think is the case...at least not until I can see more than a second-long glimpse of her.

Do combat/running shoes also typically have tight, pointed toes? Because to me, that's a sex appeal thing. One that comes at the cost of sore, cramped feet.

And yeah, I'm looking at the shoe again, and I've never heard of an athletic shoe putting your foot at a 45 degree angle.

Look again, those aren't pointed, the shoes angle in then flatten at the front, it's hard to see but it's there.

Wow, she looks great with her hair down. Now i kinda wish I had chosen her over Liara in Mass Effect 1 so i could have 2 brunettes to choose over. Too bad I won't get a romance option for her in ME3. :(

Depending on the type of shoe ya it might have a pointed toe, though I barely see ash's at a pointed toe. If thats a pointed toe you havent seen many high heels. As for the angle it is an illusion, again like my shoes. To reinforce the heel they usually put some sort of leather high up onto the heel so it keeps it snug and doesnt wear as easy. It looks like a 45 degree angle however the foot settles much more nicely into it

But her heels are still elevated are they not?

Yes in the same manner as if she were wearing these running shoes for women with narrow feet.

And that would be fine, but looking at the pictures you posted again the height of the heel doesn't look like that.  It looks more like the one on this page: http://www.alibaba.c...edge_heels.html

I can't see how that would be comfortable to run in or fight in.

I mean if you can do everything on wedges that you can in the sneaker you posted then I'll concede the point of the heels.  Though I'm sure you or any woman wouldn't use a pair of wedges to do track and field since the balance provided by the sneaker you posted with a wider heel is not present in wedge.  Or it could be, but the height in conjunction with the angle of the foot in the footwear would still present a problem.

Look at Shepard and Anderson's attire. They are obviously not dressed in their normal gear, so it stands to reason that Ashley is dressing casual in this sequence. Since Shepard will eventually change into armor it stands to reason Ash will too.

The picture you posted were heels, not combat shoes like the picture in the trailer seems to suggest.

Idk if it's been mentioned, but the reaper attack was a sneak attack right? She could have been sexed up for shepards trial. I'll bet she has her heavy Phoenix armor in the Normandy somewhere.

Reason? On BSN? We have dismissed that claim:wizard:

Does Shepard also wear high heeled, narrow-toed boots? He must since he's also a soldier.

Maybe Shepard wasn't dressed in his armor because he was most likely attending at the trial. And I think Anderson had more than enough armor to handle a fight.

Unlike Ashley.

Does it really matter?  The angle of the foot still presents an issue does it not?  Wouldn't most of your bodyweight still be on the front of your foot?  It's probably ideal if you wanted to pivot, but is it ideal or even recommended in a situation where you need to run for cover?  For your life?

This is probably more in line with what Ashley's wearing: http://www.alibaba.c...boot_wedge.html

Considering all this talk about heels and wedges I might end up an expert.  Imagine me telling a woman she wants something fashionable yet still functional for her to run in if she needs to.  ...Oh God, I'm slowly becoming metrosexual.

Running shoes... yeah they look reeeeeal functional.

And I point you to theelementslayer post above your own.

They are very functional. I have a buddy in the army, only the canadian army but i mean it still a good army (stop the crazy assuming, its  called sarcasm guys) and guess what they are given to wear. Combat boots (large work boots) winter combat boots (large work boots insulated). And combat shoes, which low and behold look alot like what ash is wearing, except they are green. So stop assuming you guys know everything about everything. The game isnt released, they arent high heels, it aint a catsuit.

I guess if it's canadian army gear that's why Bioware supports it and non-canadians dislike it. We're simply not exposed to it's functionality (at least I ain't:bandit:)

I would say ya, having the majority of bodyweight on the balls of your feet (front) is a good thing no matter the circumstance. I used to play Basketball and Im still a sprinter and you run on your toes, i dont know the reason behind it but people run faster, and better on the toes.

If Shepard was wearing that to his trial, he seriously needs a new lawyer.

Yes, but they always come down on their heel.  I was a fast kid, but I never ran on balls of my feet like I was instructed to do later in life.  I probably would have been faster.  I do remember not having endurance to finish a mile in high school and I was told to run the straightaways and walk the curves.  The only time my heels touched the ground were on the walks.  Eventually I could complete a mile, but after some time I developed pain in my shins.  All because I stayed on the balls of my feet.

Now I've seen runners and they always land on their heels.  When you run, you run from heel to toe.  Usually I hear it as heel-toe or something like that.  That says to me that you take your entire foot into account when you run.  I can't see someone pulling something like that off on wedges with the same accuracy and precision you can with sneakers.  The image posted by Nohvarr show the heel of the sneaker being no more than an inch off the ground.  Even then, the whole shoe is in the same line.  There isn't a mid or high angle of the foot like depicted on Ashely.  And still there's the shock-like pieces that add support and make the sneaker more in line with itself.

I've asked if you or any woman would do the same things in wedges (as depicted on Ashely) as you would in sneakers.  Can you do that?  Comfortably as you would with sneakers?  Would you get the same stability?

Shepard is a superhuman, whose feet may not need the same support as Ashley and are likely not as narrow. I have to wear shoes designed to increase stability when I run because of the way my foot is shaped. I've run in combat boots, it's not pleasant for me but I can do it. So Shepard having different feet from Ashley with different needs isn't all that surprising.

Problem, Ash isn't wearing a wedge heel. I've checked and rechecked the picture, in fact I looked up Wedge heels before you mentioned them, trying to see if they were the same. They are not. Ashley's heels are thicker at the base and are no where near as high as your image would suggest.
