I share your concern after what happened to Liara, but I'm giving Bioware the benefit of the doubt once again and want to wait to see her official character reveal before ranging right off the bat.

How about we just hold Bioware's history up and call it a day?

And Ashley said in ME1 that she preferred thick armor and big guns; plus, she was the most militarized member of your crew.

"Benefit of the doubt" doesn't make sense when we know Bioware's more recent outings and their lineup of sexified characters.

And if tomorrow we have a demo of Ashley in combat with thick armor? Stay tuned. It's still a long way off before release.

There seems to be an issue of the sky is falling a little too soon among fans...

I did. I don't read Game Informer magazines, the picture doesn't seem to specifically say it's Ashley, and she doesn't look like her in that picture either. For some reason, she's much more familiar in the E3 presser video. Slight redesign?

The picture in Game Informer did state it was Ashley

No, the picture provided by neubourn didn't specify that it was Ashley, only speculation that it was either, quote: "New character, or Shepard variant?

But I dunno. As I said, I don't read Game Informer magazines.

There's always been that, because it's better to ***** about red flags sooner than to wait six months and suddenly go, "Wait a minute, I still don't like this!" later.

And I think seeing Ashley in combat with thick armor would alleviate everyone's fears, no? But it hasn't happened yet. <_<

Well, we're getting ME3 info so I guess I'm going to start posting here again.

Man, when I first saw that pic of Ashley, I went "holy crap".

Please improve Miranda as much as you improved Ashley, guys. Yvonne Strahovski deserves it.

If that happens I will feel a lot better, and shut up about this, at least.

But I think it's better to be wrong now than right later.

I'm not overly concerned about the Ashley armor situation. Anyone who followed DA2 pre-release remember Aveline? She was depicted as a tough and strong soldier, but all the pre-release pics showed her wearing a tunic, causing lots of complaints about "Where's her armor?" In the actual game, Aveline only wears the tunic in the prologue, wearing a full suit for the main game.

I will say Ashley looks hot, but I miss the days she wore armor.

I don't know why Bioware can't fina a way to make a woman attractive without adding long hair, it's kind of sad.

Ugh, hair down, skin tight rubber suit, this is not the Ashley we knew thats for sure.

Because in all her days alive she's never ever taken her hair down or worn anything but heavy armor, even to shower, sleep and hang out.   Yes, how dare she look a little bit more casual.

For the record, I love her original look and this one.  Why hate on it?  She still looks great!  As long as her awesome character is intact what's the problem?

I agree. She looks great.

Now, if FemShepard doesn't get similar lighter looking armor option and gets stuck in N7 heavy only I'll, for one, be upset.

So, did the career soldier decide to become a supermodel in the intervening years?

Seriously? Can we have a female without her getting delegated to illogical fanservice?

She should be wearing a heavy armor suit, true to her character. She would have her hair up in a bun, like a PRACTICAL soldier...also true to character.

And since when does she wear skin-tight leather suits? Ugh....

Yeah and if maleshepard doesn't get the similar beard as canon Shepard, i'll be upset too. :P

Because if her look has changed, what else could have changed?  This may be Ash, but is it the Ash we knew?

I don't mind her having a "casual look" but that simply hasn't been Bioware's thing for companions in the last couple of games.

Still, I' suppose there's nothing to be done but hope that Ash is "Aveline" and not "Isabela"

And yes, I mean that on multiple levels :P

With her all but confirmed SpecTRe status in ME3 you have to think the gal isn't as militarily rigid when it comes to her looks. To think that a casual at home Ash walks around with her hair in a military bun is kind of silly. But she's not really subject to the same Alliance regs she once was. Not to mention, I'm sorry but that suit looks comfy - and her heavy armor was heavier and just as tight folks. :)

Yeah the picture that neubourn gave wasn't the Game Informer one, the one I linked to is and you can see the confirmation at the bottom of the picture
