Not to mention that could simply be the most modern Spectre equivolent of light armor, which is what Ashley can equip by default before levelling up her armor skill. I'm not really seeing catsuit there, nor am I seeing heels. The hair could be impractical at times, though. But meh, it's a vidya game.

On a adept, engineer or any other class were light armour makes sense I quite like the armour. It has a sleek, kickassness to it and I hope it's an option for my adept FemShep but on a solider like Ashley it looks stupid. Worse it's likely only been done so they can stick her on every poster, game box and internet banner they can. New 'improved, sexy' Ashley has been done for marketing reasons.

If they released the same footage but with the other VS we would have a definite answer on the casual or her real armour debate but out of curiosity, I'm going to check out the new info later, how much has Kaiden been featured compared to Ashley?

Next to the implications of Kaidan actually having heavier armour in the court, being a sentinel, this does seem off.

She is beautiful, but it seems out-of-character, if that is going to be her look from now on, at least to me.

Kaiden was featured in the article in Game Informer and I've seen a fair share of him. I've seen more Ashley coverage though, which is not surprising as she has been one of the original front-runners of the series, along with Garrus of course.

Now for some inexplicible reason, Bioware has decided to dress her up in half-armor, half-spandex.  And long, wind-blown hair.  Now she's not unique.  Now she looks like any other sci-fi hottie.  Even if her personality remains unchanged, this new look is totally different from how she carried herself before.  It's closer to the look she'd mock.   And so far, there is no word as to the logic behind it.  Particularly since the pics we've seen of Kaidan's new look are exactly what Ash should have.

Next we'll have Jack in a business suit and watching her language.

I typed a search into google.  How accurate those boots are I don't know, but if they are Canadian military boots the heel of said boots are in no way similar to the heels of Ashely's boots in the reference picture.

are very functional. I have a buddy in the army, only the canadian army

work boots) winter combat boots (large work boots insulated). And

So maybe i missed something but the only parts weve seen Ashely in so far is the escape from earth bit where it seems all crew, shep and anderson are in what i'd call casual military gear and so arent fully armoured up yet.

So i would guess ashley is in military casual gear also and will probably get more armor later. Oh and i like her hair.

Maybe its just me not jumping to conclusions.......or maybe i am!

No, we go by what the character has been shown in the past to care about, talk about and emote about. One of my Sheps romanced her in ME1, and the Ash in ME1 wouldn't be caught dead after a combat scenario looking like the ash in ME3 trailer outside some very specific causes. Causes which aren't given, nor admitted to. This is Ashs' 'new look', and it doesn't fit the character as she was described in previous instalments of the franchise.

To judge someone by the way they look is wrong, but people do it all the time.  Regardless, Ashley's look is all we have to go by to try and gauge where they're taking her character.  If you can't see that then there's nothing else I can say that will convince you that we're not looking at her the same way other lecherous types are.  

Ashley's creator left Bioware.  That has already put her character at risk.  What we see now has made a lot of fans nervous because I can't imagine L'Etoile being in any way happy about it.  It's why I imagine Bioware might be doing it to stick it to him.  Whether they are or not doesn't matter in the least if that image of Miranda Ashley is anything to go by.  It marks a significant change in her character because it's in opposition to what she would wear.  Many of presented her words as to what she prefers and what she's wont to do and that bit reflects none of it.

Now, I don't care about her letting her hair down.  I do care, however, about her not finding something practical to tie her hair back just in case if she were going to be in that outfit at all.  All that wind and fire occurring and she's not going to worry about field of vision?  Please.

The only time we've seen her is at the beggining, when Shepard isn't wearing heavy armour either. That outfit could just be what she wears in the Normandy. Wait a bit longer for more info before completely writing her off as a Miranda clone. And I prefer her hair down. Sorry.

Ashley sure sparked some controversy back in the ME1 days. But IMO she was very well written, intresting character with depth.

Something I have been wondering is that despite how tough soldier type she is, she is also a human and a woman. My Shepard never romanced her, but I could buy her character pondering things, missing things like romance. I mean romance in a sense that doesn't mean just shagging after one shared supper, but also emotional bonds. We know she can feel jealous like anybody and perhaps she could wonder, if she is woman enogh, after all that she has given to her military career, enough to someone she feels like sharing a lot of things.

I can imagine her exploring those things, but there are also things I don't think she would compromise because of that. I think she would try to figure out something else instead.

It remains to be seen what BioWare writers are up to, but I'm bit worried. Won't ruin the game for me but still...

No matter how much she explored those feelings, Ashley would never compromise her marine heritage, especially not in combat.

We need to see the scene with a Shepard who rescued Kaidan; if he is wearing his spectre armor it confirms that the catsuit is Ashley's default armor.

However, the demo will likely only feature Ashley, as it simplifies things for both the press/newcomers and the developers themselves.
