Ashley's outfit looks horrendous. I hope they change it to something more practical.

Maybe they'll do it with an overpriced DLC.

I'm beyond sure that that's not an arch and that Ashley has her feet planted on an inclined surface. On the video around 5:18 you can just maybe catch a glimpse of her entire foot. It looks more like the wedge to me that I referenced earlier, but I'll leave it alone for now.

I'm pretty sure that is an arch, because I took that shot from the time you're talking about, and even though she's on an incline I have on shot of her foot more or less perpendicular to the camera We're seeing the side of her footwear and, to me, it looks a lot like the running shoes I've posted. However, I'll leave it be for the moment.

The truth is I honestly don't care if people like the design, my problem was people saying she was a Miranda clone and using her 'high heels' as proof. I've studied her gear, it's light to medium armor, but it's not a catsuit. If you feel Ash should look like a walking tank, fine, that's personal preference.

It's not a catsuit, but it's not an armor either. :/

Who cares about her feet anyway? As far as this suit goes, her footwear is the smallest of my concerns. The exposed chest and almost un-armored far too-form-fitting catsuit-like suit (pardon the redundancy) is much more preoccupying if it is, indeed, her combat wear than how steep her feet are inclined.

Ash appears to be wearing a black undersuit beneath light/medium armor on her shoulders and chest. Possible some new material cooked up by the egg heads at ONI. That or it's the same type of body armor worn by other females in ME 2 (Kasumi, Liara, Tali).

Maybe I'l be an optimist and say that's a bodystocking interface for a suit of power armor...

Can't say I like the change. Wouldn't exactly call the whole fanservice attire in Me2 gamebreaking, but I do find it pretty annoying.

Do what you want for casual looks, but keep sensible attire for combat.
People said Miranda and Samara's suits were obviously going to be casual wear, so I can't be too surprised if this is the look they're sticking with. I know everyone's saying that there'll be more customization, and I'd like to see them work with that, but then again it may just be more palette swaps.

Hard to say at this point.

Ashley's now a Spectre. She probably has a new hair-do not because BioWare wanted to make her "fashionable" or something (though I do admit I'm really digging the 'do right now, whether or not it's more practical than that bun), but because BioWare wanted to cement the fact that Ashley isn't held by regulations anymore. Yes, she "technically" is still a part of the Alliance, but there's no real obligation for her to abide by Alliance protocol if she doesn't have or need to. Therefore, she's allowed to do whatever the heck she wants with her hair.

I don't know whether or not to call that a "catsuit," because it definitely isn't as ridiculously lacking as Miranda's outfit was. But, once again, she's a Spectre, and I'm pretty sure that that "special" Spectre-training means you don't necessarily have to rely on armor to get you through a fight anymore. Of course, it was probably just a design choice, but just think about the practicality of the whole thing. Besides, why hide her under 30 kilos of ablative padding when she looks just as good regardless? FemShep's ME2 armor wasn't particularly "heavier" than this either.

Gah, I'm ranting. Guess what I'm saying is that WOW does Ashley look gorgeous. At least, comparing her to her ME1 and ME2 appearances.

I doubt armor would protect well with a gaping crack down the center of the chest..

That 'gaping crack' is a sealable collar all Ash has to do is seal it up and she's good

Samara had the same problem; didn't exactly deal with it.

Why'd Ashley go from this to the catsuit?

The hair might be okay (er, as soon as she cuts it or clips it behind her ear, somewhere that isn't covering half her face like she just got out of the shower), but the armor? Duurrgh. So not Ashley's style.

I'm saying if Bioware didn't give Samara the sense to zip up or change outfits before going into combat, chances are that they're not above doing the same for other characters.

But hopefully I'm just being cynical.

Sadly, I doubt it.

In the end, it's going to end up our problem.  :(
