Considerin Ash has gone through Spectre training her 'style' has likely changed. Besides take a look at her ME 2 armor in comparison to Shepards. Ashley's looks way more flexible, in the chest area. Note Shepards gear looks like heavy plate atop a mesh undersuit. Ashley (ME 2) armor looks like it's made from a more flexible material.

Her ME 3 armor looks like the next step up, and if you need an example of what Ash might be wearing imagine 'Liquid Body Armor' with ME tech and time to develop

http://www.scienceda..._body_armor.htm

So all you need is a scene where Ash closes the center section before combat? No worries just assume that she's doing that each time if Bioware dosen't program it in.

Well look on the bright side - if all else fails, we can always replay ME and nuke Ashley to dust!

Yay choices!

Hate to break this to you, but that suit looks like casual wear
She'll get some armour like Kaiden will. Posted Image

Just because armor is not rigid does not mean it lacks protective qualities.

Ashley is wearing a jumpsuit under flexible body armor so the two aren't dressed the same.

well lets be fair here.

mirandas outfit looked like a latex skintight catsuit.

ashley's outfit seems to be a tight fitting thick leather looking jumpsuit.

big difference.

Awesome. Tight-fitting leather is so easy to move around in. ^_^

We do not know its material properties. Theoretically it could be. If Cerberus has the money to ressurect Shepard, I'm would not doubt that they have the technology to create light, flexible materials that offer strong ballistic protection. Furthermore, its already 200 years into the future, and compared to 200 years ago, our material science has come a long way.

Because they can't aford the expensive, but highly mobile gear, unlike say a Human Spectre.

The STG apparently don't have access to this 'miraculous' armor then, and Mordin mentions that the STG are better funded than spectres.

Not to mention the fact that Kaidan, another spectre, still dons traditional armor.

My human Spectre in ME 1 was a millionaire and couldn't get any of that stuff.

Ashley looks pretty sexy.. for a Human Female Spectre she's looking pretty lax. I hate assuming ,but just for this one exception I'll assume that she's donning the sexy features because it's casual due to the trial, but if not, it's the certainty of the inevitable truth that sex sells. But it's not a bad thing to look hot whilst killing Reapers and Cerberus operatives. After all, this game is sci-fi in like 170 years in the future. There's plenty loopholes to looking good and still kicking metallic booty ;)

There are different grades of body armor, and different people have different needs and preferences. Not everybody runs around in the suits EOD crews might don, even if it offers maximum protection. Heavy armor might offer more protection but you'd also tire out more quickly while wearing it, unless the armor is powered (which I shall assume is the case in ME). Even if the armor is powered, it is still bulky and can restrict movement in tight spaces. In such situations, the relative benefit of wearing lighter armor may exceed the absolute defensive benefit of wearing heavy armor.

Theoretically yeah, never mind the fact that your heavy hitter guys don't wear that and your enemies don' wear this material. The other spectres including Kaidan don't even wear that.
I’m am sick to death of this look and stereotype especailly since Ashley was not this before and it makes little sense for her to change that way.Posted Image
Would be okay if it was an occasional thing, as a girl that is pretty badass but it not and occasional thing. It almost every god damn action heroine. Can we have a storing confident girl who doesn’t look like they spend 3 hours getting ready before going to battle and actually fits in with the guys? Instead of another 20 something action girl in a skin-tight v neck suit, with long flowing hair?
Look I’m not necessarily saying their only sexualising the girls tho it dose seem to be worse with the girls. Can’t forget about Jacob and Thane. I wasn't impressed with that either tho atleast they were not soilders.  I think it’s probably more because the heavy armoured look is still considered sexy on a guy and I seem to be in minority in thinking this sort of thing is actually looks good on a girl without looking out of place, fits with ashley and is not overly sexulised.Posted Image

Humans have been shown to think in ways the Aliens do not.

Kaiden is more reliant on Biotics than physical skill, Whereas Ash can employ all of her superior physical abilites in this new combat armor.

You still haven't seen a Spectre in a catsuit, miranda is wearing a catsuit, Ashley is wearing a Jumpsuit underneath some 'Liquid Body Armor'
