Curved spine to enhance chest and butt. Niccccce. I totally think that is exactly how soldiers are taught to fire their assault rifles at the military academy. I see male soldiers doing that all the time.
[/quote]It seems that is something everyone can agree on. The curved spin sh*t has to end. At this rate any pre-teen kid playing the ME series will grow up thinking girls really do have curved spines

Please illustrate the difference between the early shot and the model in ME3.

People aren't pulling this stuff out of nowhere.  Iakus is probably one of the most reasonable people on the board, but people think he's overreacting.  This is not because we're on the same side of the argument though we seem to agree on many things around here, but his history is enough to back up the idea that he's not in it for the lulz.

Ok in the pic above we see that Ash actually has armor plating on her legs, hips, chest(looks like some kind of kevlar vest), and though it isn't in this picture her back. Also we can see that her um:?....chest area isn't as pronounced as it was earlier made out to be.We can see that she is wearing combat gloves and, though it isn't in the picture, boots. One of the boots may appear to be a high heel however that is because her foot is partially phased into the loading ramp.

You all seem to be confused about why this and why that.
Let me explain...
The reason Ashley is wearing tight clothing and almost nothing that can actualy protect her person in battle, is because Bioware is trying to make her look as sexy as possible, so they can make a couple more 100 dollars off of the video game.
Simple as that you guys.
What do you think?

I'm starting to think that you're not even taking a serious stance on this anymore and are now posting just to anger one side or the other

No....I am sorry, its just so ridiculous to me, that they would make Ashley look like this.
I mean, everyone on this forum, would most likely buy the game with, or without the skimpy outfits that Bioware had added in ME2.
Again, i am just sayin'.

No you are correct, we're all gonna buy the game with or without the outfits and this discussion is a waste of time. And I agree that it's hard to take this discussion seriously anymore (I know I have). But still, posting just to anger people serves no purpose and achieves nothing more than people possibly calling you a troll...

Absolutely not. Don't you dare criticize my art.

Okay, I guess giving my opinion on the matter who don't do that much harm.

Her armour looks at least better than the catsuit Lawson was wearing. And for someone who was really not that into Miranda's outfit, I can accept this as a reasonable compromise between realism and coolness/hotness/going for horny men/whatever.
I may change my mind one way or the other when the game's out and I can actually see it properly.

EDIT: after reading iakus' post I have to agree that this look doesn't really suit Williams' character. It could be a more realistic evolution of Lawson's outfit.

The spandex and makeup don't suit Ash' either.
SHE IS WEARING MAKEUP!
WHY?

Well, IIRC she was also wearing make-up in ME (1) and ME2 so I don't notice the difference. Standard Femshep also wears make-up. Both very basic and minimal.

Did a little trial of what it would be like if she had her tied up. Minor but still, worth fiddling around with. A bit choppy but it does the job. Still comes with bewb goodness tho.

As long as they don't go overboard with it, girls are allowed to wear make up in the United States military so Ash wearing make-up isn't really something to go crazy over...

Now we're going to animations? Don't make me dig up posts from devs talking about the libraries of generic animations they have stockpiled and draw from for each cinematic sequence. It's much more likely what you see there is generic 'female_assaultrifle_attack_2' than "Ashley_shows_off_TnA_while_shooting_3'.

If you want to talk about female animations that's a whole other thread, but I seriously doubt they've gone and mo-capped Ashley specifically

Wow its absolutely ridiculous that we have over 70 pages of arguing over a suit for a character.....

She looks hot. You'll probably have multiple armor options for her if you don't like her new look. IF Bioware doesn't provide those options you have 2 choices.

1) B and moan
OR
2) Not buy ME3

Either way this thread is just so pointless.....and unnecessary

@mya111

I agree! I want one of my FemSheps to have Rihanna lenght FIERCE red hair in flowing long locks....

Would love her to death....

I am just recalling from memory, but isn’t that pose taken from when she began to run up to help Shepard in? You can’t take a screen that was taken mid-pose and draw up a conclusion that she was posing for Playboy instead of what she was actually doing. Unless you’re grasping at straws to help build an argument that now she must be a cat-woman, stripper type who puts on light armor and now forgets how to use an assault rifle because stereotypes are a hoot!--then by all means.

I agree that this suit doesn't fit Ashley at all, but to be fair, in that still shot she wasn't firing. She was adjusting position or something. When she fired she was in a pretty normal looking stance. Those two pics were taken from when Casey Hudson was talking with some guys about ME3 during the demo.

So the only possible explanation for Kaiden's armor change is that Heavy armor is superior in all situations? It's not possible that some other factor has played into Kaiden using different armor? I mean if Ashley can decide to use lighter armor to take advantage of her physical superiority then it's not at all possible that kaiden picked heavier armor because it works well with his biotics? With heavy armor and biotics Kaiden might be able to turn himself into a bipedal tank. Ashley dosen't have Biotics, she can't afford to be slow cause, or just stand their and take hit after hit. She has to be able to move, to shift from cover to cover, to get in fast, and be able to strike hard when up close. If any enemy get's close to kaiden he can use Biotics to send them flying.

Ashley has to float like a butterfly, and sting like a bee.

I'm not sure I understand this part.

Are you saying that wearing light armor can help dodge and outrun bullets?

You don't have to dodge a bullet, just get by the person holding the gun. That's why Starship troopers point out that putting a knife in someones hand prevents them from pressing the button or pulling the trigger. It's why Marines still train in hand to hand combat.  If I'm in close enough to grab you, then I can take away the advantage of your gun. If I have a higher degree of mobility than you, then I have options you don't. Ashley knows this, and might have changed how she fights in the time since you've known her. In fact even Shepard is able to do a lot more damage up close in ME 3.

That statement people like to use to prove that Ash is married to heavy armor (something about Asari Commandos) occured two years ago. That's two years of training and combat to see how different people/races fight. In that time she might have discovered an advantage to lighter armor that compliments how she fights.

Apparently, people who are exposed to enemy fire the most are the ones who must wear lighter armor. Because if you wear light armor, you become a superhero who can dodge bullets.

Those in support roles who fight at the rearguard and can cast biotic barriers upon themselves on the other hand should wear heavy armor because the bullets they won't receive anyway would be even less likely to do damage.

Kaiden's a Sentinel, he has the Shields/Tech Armor to walk through a hail of gun fire. He's not at the back of a fight any more. Not according to ME 2.

Ashley dosen't need to dodge bullets, Asari Commandos are deadly, feared for good reason.

The fact is this, Bio dosent respect well established rules set in ME1, ergo it is in our hands that the basic rules are followed.
and KaidanWilliamsShepard, you are correct.

By that thinking, the Emperor shouldn't be allowed to toss around force lightening in Episode six, because we haven't seen it in Episodes 3 & 4. All we knew of the galaxy came from humanity who were new to the scene in ME 1, and Shepard's own expierences. So those 'rules' were always subject to change. As humanity, Shepard and we learn more old things we thought were concrete change. We all thought that th Geth were evil, end of story. Wow, we were wrong about that.

I will probably get the game... eventually.  But this could help me decide when to get the game.  It will also help decide how receptive I am to DLC and whether I purchase more Bioware products.

Because perhaps maybe we're right. In the grand scheme of things it DOES NOT MATTER. Your opinion isn't going to change a thing about Ashleys appearance in this game.

More to the point you're just wasting space adn time with this crying and moaning about this non issue.

While I hated her in the first game for multiple reason she was a woman and she wasn't portrayed as someone who would absolutely NEVER wear anything like Miranda was wearing.

She had both a hard side and a soft side. It just that we were led to believe and infer that her hard tought physical side was like 99% dominant.

I honeslty don't care either way. I'm on my way to pre order this game and I'm gonna enjoy the heck out of finishing the storyline and seeing more of the Mass Effect Universe.

The rest of you can take this thread into page 140 for all the good it will do you while the sane people on this forum talk about more important and fun matters....

I mean come on folks its just a GAME. LOL. The amount of hysteria and panic that you guys are devoting to a characters outfit would make me cry tears of shame for the human race if it weren't so hilarious to begin with. She didn't look that great in ME1 (at least to me) but now I can honestly say she's ridiculously hot.  To the pont where I'd go straight for her if I could haha....

You have to realize this reaction to her new look is exactly what has people grating their teeth, and reinforces their belief that Ashley has changed from a gung-ho, no frills, srs bizness marine to a feisty, sexed-up, space babe.

If you're trying to get people to calm down and keep an open mind about Ashley's new look, saying things like this is the worst way to do it. You're going to accomplish the opposite.
