It doesn't  make sense because you're not trying to think about it in any way that doesn't support your own position.

His enhanced strength and speed would allow him to wear heavier gear without as much hampering as someone like Ashley would endure.

She endured it effortlessly until now.

Well said.

If I work with a machine that weighs 3 kg but someone gave me a new one that weighs 1 kg and still capable of the same thing, I wouldn't use the old one neither.;)

No, you'd use a new one that ways 3kg and is better than either of them.

Actually she's 18. She was born in 2165

Actually, she's 20, since in ME2 we are in 2185. Anyway, I though she was older. Maybe because of her Italian's VA.
edit: on ME wiki it's stated that she's born in 2161, so she's actually 24.

Ah yes, 20, sorry for that. Just everywhere in the game the year 2183 pops up. I keep forgetting that's the year of ME1 ^_^
In the shadow broker dossiers, the conversation where they take away the infant Jack from her mother takes place in 2165, so which one is true now?

In the wiki it's stated that she was abducted in 2165. I saw the SB file about her, and I don't see a reference about her age.

They call her an infant, which means a few month old at max

So I guess Shepard, Kaidan, and James Vega are dumb enough to do exactly that?

Vega is just a basic soldier - as far as  know - he's got a basic armor.
Shaperd could wear a 50 kg armor without effort I think, because of the bio-inplants.
Kaiden? I don't know. Maybe he idolizes Shepard, and wants to look like him :P

If it was ME1 Ashley I would agree. But time has passed since then, Ashley might have changed.

@Machazareel, She didn't fire like that in ME1&2. Soldiers don't fire like that. What happened?

It should be blatantly obvious that the gameplay mechanics worked in favor for everyone.

That's right, we really should give Kaidan an easier time moving about by taking away that black heavy looking armor he used in Horizon and giving him light clothing instead. Or maybe not.

Was it in any way plausible that everyone, regardless of bulk, was able to move around as quickly on the battlefield as, say, Kasumi?

Of course. It's not like she's trying to win the 100 metres or anything. Everyone in the team marches at the same rhythm. Maybe Kasumi could leave the rest behind if she wanted to, but that's irrelevant, since she does not do that, because she's in a team.

Regardless, implying that stating Ashley does not have the same physical power of Shepard or Wrex or whatever is demeaning, is just stupid. She doesn't. She's not Wonder Woman.

She was physically capable of wearing heavy armor until now. What happened?

No, I'm saying her wearing lighter armor will have a larger impact on her agility than Shepard doing so because he's full of implants. It's less about her being weak and more about Shep being super strong.

edit: Oh you edited it, lulz. The point still stands. She could wear heavy before, but trying to act like switching to something lighter won't impact her ability to move is silly. At least in terms of lore and practicality, which is exactly what everyone is clamoring about.

So you don't support the argument that Miranda didn't need heavier armor because she was a sentinel?

Kaidan does?

Why?

Because Miranda works for Cerberus, and is a genetically engineered perfect woman. Who knows what tech she had access to when she choose to wear her suit, and her biotic abilities might surpass kaidens. I'm fairly sure she dosen't have to deal with headaches like he does.

Kaiden's a Spectre and will have access to more advanced tech. Cerberus lives and breathes advanced technology and I'm sure their top agent (or one of) would buy gear that fits her needs.

"If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas"

If Ash has changed, I want to know how this fits into the story
If armor has changed (for Ash, but oddly not for Shepard) I need details

I have Ash's look and behavior in ME 1
I have Ash's outift in ME3

It.  Does.  Not.  Add.  Up.

And I'm tired of being dismissed as some troll afraid of change for being concerned about this discrepency.  If I'm wrong tp be concerned, give me a solid answer as to why I'm wrong!

I don't think you're a troll, I just think you're acting irrationally.

Blah blah blah history whatever and all that, but we still don't know. Too many assumptions being made with limited information.

But that's how art works, don't you see. It doesn't respond to reason, but to the feelings and impulses of the artist. That's what artistic vision is all about.

I don't want to know her reasons for change before I played the game. I just make assumptions on the known facts that could be wrong or right. But some people thinks they know everything about the game based on some pictures and go on a rampage...

But how is it better than than the one that weighs less and does the same thing?

Kaidan: "Those Asari commandos are impressive. Lightly armored, but their speed more than makes up for it."
Ashley: "Unless that speed lets them outrun bullets, I’m more inclined to stick with nice solid armor and a big gun."

That was two years ago. Working with Shepard, being exposed to how other alien races fight, the kinds of tactics they employ, her viewpoint may have changed? It's well within reason for her to decide to wear lighter armor, especially if it protects just as well as the heavy stuff.

The answer to this and other burning questions can be yours with your purchase of Mass Effect 3.

And I think you're dismissing attitude is instulting. There IS no better time to inform Bioware about our concerns, better they know it now and can think about it before their development proceeds to a point where they can't turn back or add more options. There will be a time when they'll need to focus on what's absolutely necessary for the game to work well and such things as aesthetic design will not get any focus.

So to tell us to shut up and wait it out is not a good idea. This is what the forum is for, it's not just for the lulz, rainbows and peaches, though those are fun too. And we've got as much right to our criticism as those who love the new looks.

You want an echo chamber, fine, you have it. If you are interested in not putting words into my mouth, you're free to search through my history to see I am not actually dismissing anything or anyone. We are free to have a rational discussion at that point, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Have a nice day.

If light armor is just as protective as heavy armor, then why would any of the other characters be wearing heavy armor?
