Also regarding Christina's tweet

" Tip for fans: embrace change, previous games don't go away but new games bring new possibilities. "

My response to this tweet is an emphatic eyeroll. That's like a preemptive "please don't hate us for changing things." And look how that worked out for them with DAII.

I also disliked this response. I know that ultimativly develepors should have authority to do what they wish in order to create whatever game they had in mind. But I hope they could atleast have a less dismissive attitude towards criticism.

But also another thing. Is Christiana even the right person to complain to? Shouldn't it be whoever stood behind the design of the character?

Hey, I'd slap a medal on any character who progresses from grunt to hooker in a little over two years. Now that's DEPTH! *Any sort of indirect pun not intended, most certainly.

On that note, I REEEEAAALY hope that in the case of Ashley what you see is WHAT YOU GET! Hope all you dudes who like the new look will get to reap your reward. *Wink-wink* lots and lots of bed time! :D

Characters need to change in believable ways, And to stimuli we can see and understand.

EDIT:  And yes, meeting Ash's sisters would be fun

I do not recall at any point in ME1 Ash saying "You know what, maybe those asari commandos have a point"

Nor do I recall any news footage in ME 2 about a new armored skinsuit being tested by Alliance personnel.

You have no idea how relieved I was when I found the conversation option with Liara to get her to tell Shepard about why she's so obsessed with the Shadow Broker (pre LOTSB).  It pretty much saved the character for me

Well to be fair, the DA2 team, at least,  seems to genuinely want to listen to feedback.  Maybe that will change Dragon Age 3 :P

But here's another tip:  "Change is neither inherently good nor bad.  It depends on its application.  Context is everything.  Change for  the sake of change is nothing more than chaos."

Tips for developers: don't expect fans will do things they don't want to do. Like embrace change. We're not going to do it.

Here's a new possiblity.

It's very much possible that I'll go back, load up a save right before the Virmire Survivor choice and rescue Alenko. :kissing:

No, but in the two years afterwards, it more than plausible. You people wanted to get to know Ash better, ME 3 is your chance. Perhaps you'll discover you didn't know her as well as you thought.

So you expect the Alliance to discuss all it's R&D secrets with the press?

No but she's the only one who went and said something about it. I tweeted Casey twice about the armor choices, got nada. Who else should I ask that might answser?

You can’t expect them to change every thing that a group of fans dislike either. There has to be balance sometimes. For every person you find that love Change A, you’re going to find someone who hates it and wants B instead. Honestly, it’s like a ping pong game that no one wins.

"Us people" would have liked to see Ash make that transition, rather than get thrown into it like she's a brand new character.

Like the interview Shepard gave about the Normandy when its shakedown cruise hadn't even been finished?

I can gurantee you that, whether they say so or not, the one thing you can count on fans doing is responding badly to change. Again, even when they are trying to say they won't.

That's not to say that all change is bad. But when the developer is coming out to publicly ask the fans to try to respond well to the changes, well, especially with the current track record for "changes," you should brace yourself for the worst.

Maybe you find out she (he) is a cross-dresser. Would that change anything for you?

Could have falsified service records and ID scans somehow. Anything possible, apparently.

...err, as long as it doesn't compromise artistic integrity or what have you.

No...Wait...
So let me get this straight...From what i read their...this person played Mass Effect 1, and almost threw up or something?
"previous games don't go away"...woooowww.
I think everyone is now starting to realize WHY Mass Effect 2 got bad reviews by all the REAL video game mags. (Ones that arent payed off and have actual fans doing the reviews)
Because they saw Mass Effect 3's unfortunate outcome through ME2's present condition...or...yeah....well you know what i mean people.
Very interesting that they start to turn NOW and not back on 1/26/10.
I am just sayin'.....again.:-)

Its a forum, lets reach a common understanding, or some kind of agreement.
Ashley: Great character, happy she is back, most not happy about her being 100% white now with lots of makeup and hair conditioner, most not happy about skimpy and useless armor choice.
Am i on the money, or do i need to redo my consensus?

Alright guys, This seems to have jumped off topic plenty enough. I'm closing this one and you can start over, discussing Ashley's new look, but leave Lady Christina Norman out of it. The Lead Gameplay Designer is not  the Character designer.

@Polite_Assassin
One more disrespectful comment out of you about Ms. Norman or any other BioWare employee and you find yourself on an extended vacation from these forums. DIsagreement is always expected, but Disrespect will not be tolerated.
