Damn there's a lot of Miranda hate around here. I really like Miranda not only is she smoking hot but shes blunt and to the point.

OT: Miranda needs to come back. Do you hear me Bio Ware? Some Shepards went into Mass Effect 2 single. That means Miranda wasn't "cheat bait" for some folks. Bring her back strong. This will be the make it or break it for me and others.

I can't agree with that more. My Shepard was single when he entered Mass Effect 2, because personally i didn't find Liara or Ashley suitable for how i see my Shepard. Whilst i can understand why their respective fans like them, i don't.

It would be truly disappointing to see such an awesome character, reduced to a smaller roll. The thing i looked forward to most in Mass Effect 2 was returning to the Normandy after a New Mission and talking to Miranda to learn more about her story. Mass Effect 3 is shaping up to be an excellent game, but it wouldn't have the same impact without Miranda on my permanent team.

That's the problem. I fear that some of the old LI will be relegated as they did with the ME LI in ME2, with maybe a little more. For now VS, Liara, Garrus and Tali are confirmed perm squadmates, so I'm quite sure their LI status are protected.

Er, they already confirmed all LI's are coming back.

I know that. But unfortunately that doesn't mean that they're going to treat all the LI in the same way. To make the same aumont of dialogue for 11 characters they have to spend a lot of time.

It was the same for VS, Liara and Wrex in ME2. Too bad they're not gonna continue Shepard's story with an ME4. No balancing it out.

And honestly? Nobody was "cheat bait", but screwing over the VS and Liara was certainly an attempt at pushing everyone towards a new LI.

The VS and Liara sitting out ME2 seems like an attempt at balance, actually.  The VS had far and away the most lines in ME1, followed by Liara, and then everyone else. In ME2 the VS wasn't a squadmate, but Liara got a DLC all about her. Tali and Garrus were back, but arguably had the fewest lines of any of the ME2 characters. Tali had more than Garrus, but that's made up for the fact that she had the fewest lines of any ME1 character. It all evens out really, by skipping a game the VS and Liara are on even ground with the ME2 LIs coming up on the final installment.

I sincerely hope you're right. I loved Yvonne's Performance<3. I feel there's a huge amount of room to explore her storyline.

I would be really disappointed if after seeing Miranda slowly open up to Shepard, to then have to fight the Reapers without her by his side.

"Behind every great man, is an even greater Woman" - That is certainly true for my Shepard, whilst he is unquestionably Great, having Miranda by his side constantly reminds him of what he's fighting for.

I don't want deeper relationships only for characters like Garrus, Tali, Liara, or Kaidan ... Miranda fans also deserve to have this in ME3.

And i guess people like yourself who are Tali/Jack/Liara fans do have a brain? That is such a stupid comment i don't know where to start. Miranda was a complex character, if you took the time to know her. Something tells me you are rejected by pretty girls a lot in life. There, you see, i can make assumptions too.

Relax, no need to take that kid seriously.

Just look at his name. "BickDutt"?

Its one of those names some 12 year old would use because he thinks its hilarious.

Yeah . . . Miranda and Jacob probably aren't in a good spot at the beginning of ME3.

I mean, I assume Sheapard's realatively safe from Cerberus reprisal being in an Alliance Prison awaiting trial, but Miri and Jake? They're out there in the 'verse, a target of any number of bounties TIM has put on them.

10 to 1 though, one or both will be featured in a rescue mission. Also, a good chance one of them dies no matter what, kinda like a delayed Virmire Survivor sequence based on your realtionships with them in ME2.

This echos how I feel about Miranda perfectly. Whenever my Shepard thinks of Miranda and considers her continued presence at his side, he's amazed that such a woman would choose him as a companion. She brings out the best in him, and vice versa. They're both great in their own way, but together the whole galaxy couldn't stand against them.

I want Miranda's role in ME3 to reflect that.

As far as cheating goes, I made two playthroughs for that character. In the first one, I romanced Miranda, because I had thought that Ash had broken up with Shep on Horizon or something. In the second playthrough (same character), I stayed faithful.

Another character branches off like this as well, so combined with other characters, let's see... I'll have at least 7 times to play through Mass Effect 3.  That's not counting the possibilty of messing up and starting over.

I'm hoping for a satisfying role for Miranda in ME3 - for people that didn't romance her as well as those that did. She's one of my top 3 characters across the series, and I'd be disappointed if the only returning squadmates were the ME1 crew.

I'm thinking that maybe Shep has to go rescue Miri and Jacob from a Cerberus facility and or something that can't be descussed right now because it would be "spoiler territory".

But I really hope our favourite XO comes back to the squad, she was my favourite character in ME2.

I posted this vision of ME3's first encounter between Miranda and Shepard in the Miranda thread some time ago:

Shepard and one team member are walking along a corridor. They've spent some time exploring this Cerberus station and are on high alert for enemies.

There's a thumping sound coming from behind a bulkhead. Then another. The bulkhead flies out of its frame, driven by the body someone has thrown against it. A blue afterglow is hanging in the air. Camera zooms on that body. Blood is seeping out of some cracks in its armor.

Camera swings to the opening. Miranda steps through, as composed as ever. Seeing Shepard, she raises one eyebrow.

Miranda (with a challenging smile): "You're late".

Shepard (looks pointedly at the body): "Seems you didn't need my help after all."

Miranda (self-deprecatingly): "Perhaps. I'd have escaped. But that's not enough."

Shepard: "So you went here on your own? What for?"

Miranda: "I'd heard Cerberus was after you. [if Miranda didn't resign: Nobody told me]. I wanted to know what's behind it. I had my own personal network within Cerberus, but they've all been subverted. That's how I got captured. When I noticed their strange behaviour, it was too late for escape. It appears they've been indoctrinated."

Miranda: "How could the Illusive Man let that happen? He knows what we're up against. Anyway, the rest of the station is on high alert now. No chance of slipping through undetected. If you aren't in a hurry to leave, together we might prevent this mission from becoming a total failure."

Shepard [romance option present if ME2 romance progressed past the promise scene] (smiling): "It would only have been a total failure if they'd got you."

Miranda (a mix of exasperation and amusement on her face): "We've got a job to do.....but..."

She steps closer, hesitates for a moment, then proceeds to kiss him rather forcefully.

We hear another bulkhead opening with a hiss. Camera swings over to show Kai Leng standing in the opening, a squad of Cerberus guards behind him.

Kai Leng (sarcastically): "What a touching reunion! [if Miranda resigned: I knew there was more behind your betrayal than....professional disagreement]. Unfortunately it won't proceed beyond this point."

The mini-boss fight of this mission ensues.

Well we know Cerberus have mind control chips, what If Miranda has been implanted with one of them? We've seen the concept art for a Cerberus assassin breaking in to Shepards quarters, what if its Miranda? It certainly would be a big F You from TIM to Shep

If there is a rescue mission, I hope we will able to do it early in the game.
I would like to have her in my team as soon as possible.

this is one time where i'm glad people just post the same topics - as long as people keep asking for Miranda/where she is, hopefully BW will realise that ME2 characters are just as important as ME1 ones as full-time squadmates in ME3 and actually reveal a few.

^This

I'm quite miffed at the treatment the ME2 LIs are getting at the moment. Miranda is just the example that bothers me most. We have Ashley/Kaidan, Tali, Garrus and Liara revealed, but where are the LIs who came new with ME2? I don't want spoilers, just an assurance they'll have as much screen time if we so choose as the others.

Well Jacob seems to be out. Thane logically should be in failing health. Jack and Miranda are unaccounted for, but I begin to believe Garrus and Tali are our only returning ME2 LIs. Miranda's appeal is largely her sex appeal for a vast majority of casuals, I imagine, Ashley can fill that role. The best hope for Miranda is her Cerberus connection.

I agree.

There are a lot of fans (many of them outside the BSN) who would like to have her back in the team in ME3.

If Garrus and Tali get preferential treatment *again* I'm going to rant about it until the ME3 forums get closed and people are thoroughly sick of it.

This feeling of being treated unfairly almost makes me prefer Jack to Tali. And that's saying something.

Well, honestly, I believe the chances of Miranda coming back in a big role and also as a squat member are really good. She has a huge fan club, her character is interesting and the whole Cerberus business is not really resolved. So I don't think, you Miri fans should despair yet. ;-)

Now my favourite ME2 Romance was Jack and the chances of her coming back are pretty minimal. *sigh*

Every freakin' fan has something to complain about. I'm sorry, but come one! Lots of people hate the VS, not gonna use them in ME3 anyway. Thane's dying. Even if he gets a perma-squaddie role he's going to die in ME3. Jacob fans takes the brunt of the bull with everyone saying he's boring and quoting the prize. I could go on and on about the crap each character takes.

Wait for the game.

Don't know if it's been posted already but at the live chat yesterday someone asked if Miranda will be back. Jesse didn't give away any spoilers but he said something along the lines that Miranda will be back, and that the extent her role in the game will depend on the actions you took in ME2. So there you go, pretty clear if you ask me - she can be dead, have a minor role or be a LI with a major role depending on how you treated her in ME2. It caters to everyone, from fans to haters and anything in between.

Edit: found the link fo the actual footage
