I was a bit underwhelmed by the other demos, but I must congratulate
you on this one, simply epic. I like that we finally got to se
children, and it was a bit sad but classy done. The cruiser getting
shot down was epic, the Reapers landing all around you,
everything. Very nice!

That kid was one of the best looking characters they've ever made. There are some major improvements thanks to the new engine.

Nice to see Ash again. I know people don't particularly like her suit but I don't know, doesn't really bother me.

New engine? It's still Unreal Engine 3...

I have this nagging feeling that the kid didn't exist, it was just something Shepard saw in his mind. INDOCRINATION!!!!111

The kid could be Shepard seeing himself as a child.....hallucination.......
Damn Indoctrination!...you scary!

Neat idea considering how Anderson didn't seem to pay attention to Shepard going back or the kid himself. Would be intriguing if it's a girl in the vent if your FemShep. Even if that really would then lead to the obvious sci-fi ref of Ripley - Newt.
Considering this is at the start, either whether kid is a mind trick or not, be interesting if they are there when we come back later on.

I don't like it. I've never liked it. Always argued against it. But LOLOLOL at the fanboys who said it was just going to be a casual outfit (or Ash's dress for the trial); as far as I can tell, it's pretty damn obvious she's been stuck in a catsuit.
Other than that, the demo was pretty amazing. The automated dialogue is, unfortunately, necessary to keep the pace and the quality of the cinematics where they want them. And, really, what we see in the demos is absolutely amazing as far as the cinematics are concerned.

Interesting theory. It would be kinda unsettling to see that kid show up as girl if you were playing as a femshep or looking vaguely like the shep you customized.

As I've mentioned in another topic, this CE to me is on par with the 'Hardened Edition' of MW2, that had steel box and similar small stuff... then of course there was the 'Prestige Edition' which had the big fancy night vision goggles, which is akin to what Bioware were looking at doing something like that for ME3. Maybe they still will.
On-Topic, I wonder if that pre-earth part is the same as shown in the gameplay trailer where can see Shepard and Anderson at about the 49 second mark, only in that trailer Shepard was wearing Cerberus fatigues rather than that new 'casual' outfit he was in this gameplay demo?

Good:
- Epic environment/setting. Watching reapers land all around you, seeing humanity crumble beneath the superior invaders, ect, was absolutely incredible.
- More fluid movement and combat.
- Gasp! A child in Mass Effect?!
- Jerky animations. Anderson, like the ME2 crew, still suffers from the 'waddle' running animation. Not to mention that actions like reloading and rolling occur way too fast.
- Ashley's impractical armor design.
- The copy pasted ME2 hud.

It already is an obvious ref to Aliens. Kid hiding in the vent and kind of saying going with an armed soldier isn´t going to be safer. I´m just surprised it was a boy and not a girl, but then there´s already Talitha´s line about bad dreams from ME1.
