I want to know if I can use my headset, using kinect for voice commands seems pretty pointless when most of us have a perfectly good headset for our 360's.

sure you COULD use it, but Microsoft wants you to buy Kinect.

Just like XboX voice commands are Kinect exclusive, this is probably going to be kinect exclusive as well.

Will it allow me to tell Tali to take her mask off? If so, I will go ahead and buy Xbox + Kinect.

I think that Microsoft will prevent Bioware from adding voice recognition support to the PC. They have plans for Windows Kinect.

IF, this is the case, then hello Anti-trust lawsuit.

Right because so far they've clearly shown that it is the only way you will be able to issue commands to your squad...
/sarcasm

If you think that, then you clearly are lacking intelligence.

I didn't say that was the only way I said that was the way I PREFERED to do it.  What I saw of the Kinect demo did not impress me in the least it came across as nothing more than a gimmick.  I mean seriously who the hell wants to read out text on screen when selecting that text takes literally a second ?

As for the squad commands on the PC there is simply no need for a mechanisim where we have to shout at our tv/monitor.  All squad commands and powers can be accessed in real time on the PC already in a very efficient timely manner there is no need for a crappy gimmicky voice control scheme.

So no I don't want this on the PC version I would much rather they spent their time on more important aspects of the PC version.

DO want. I love the idea and I agree that it will make the game more immersive.

I support this as well <:
It is quite nice to inmerse yourself inside the game like that, tactical orders and stuff. Though some statements are true, while you waste time saying the order you could have wiped out an entire enemy platoon xD

I love the idea of it. I'm just hoping it works with the PlayStation as well.

that's the catch. Technically, It is possible to add this feature to the PS3 and the PC as well, but than buying Kinect would be completely pointless. So Microsoft wouldn't want them to do that.

Why the hell would Microsoft make a Kinect for PC? Stupid. Who the hell puts their computer in a larger room with 6' of room in front of it? Stupid if you ask me.

Even though the feature is more of a gimmick, its really stupid that Bioware would give in if they made this Kinect only. If they did give in and make voice recognition Kinect only, I guess the equality of all platforms idea they like to stress was flushed down the toilet eh?

Love how the article essentially says "it WILL support windows" whereas the article they cited said only "it hints at that".

Regardless, it would be stupid if it came to PC, because like I said, people typically put computers in smaller areas, not the bloody living room.  Heck, even the Kinect alienates some appartments and college students.

Regardless, if Bioware did make it an Xbox/Windows Kinect only thing, that would be utterly stupid, not only for the reason I mentioned above in how Bioware says that all platforms should be equal, but also for the fact that most people on PC have a perfectly good headset for such voice commands, so not offering this to PC gamers would be stupid for more than one reason.  If this indeed does happen and it becomes a Kinect only thing I don't even want to fathom how many people will be pissed off at it.  Might lose them even more respect than how much they lost from DA2 suckage.

I believe MS has paid big bucks for exclusivity, but there is often a sunset on such contracts. The real questions are will Bioware add PC / PS3 voice support when it does and do we care that much? I think it's a neat feature and am always for more options for the player. I think this is yet another case of MS looking out for # 1.

Technology is there, just applying it do a different platform isn't sadly.
