The question is for if the English language pack will be available in all PC versions of the game, including Collector's Edition etc, like it was in Mass Effect 2, or if it will be the way it was in DA2 with the English version being available only at Canadian, UK, and US retailers.

I understand that there are different dev teams at work here, but the distribution has me deeply worried. The reason for this is that I'm from the German speaking portion of my country, and the default language for games shipped by retailers is German. Of course you can order other localized versions, but they are not always available. For example, the Signature Edition of DA2 was only available in German. And since I couldn't care less about playing the game in German, I went to great lengths to get a Signature Edition from the UK, which is an odyssey I'd rather not get involved in again.

My point is: will all versions of the game, regardless of localization or standard/collector's contain the English version, or will this become a huge pain for me again?

For all this is worth, pre-ordering digital deluxe from Europe through Origin let me choose the game language. No idea about physical copy editions, though.

It would be absurd not to allow digital editions to have all language packs available.. as there is no concern over the number of extra discs needed to fit all that audio.. it just means the consumer needs to use up more of their bandwidth.

But.. these are corporations we're talking about... logic and reason seldom come into play.

The german disk version of DA2 can be installed and played in english and every DLC is multilingual anyway so I do not see a problem. I am not sure regarding digital versions however.

Uhm, I own the german Signature Edition of DA2 (the retail one) - and it includes the english sound files, just like every other BioWare game in the recent years did. At least this was case with ME, DA:O, ME2 and, like I've said, with DA2. (PC versions).

A very important question...
EA GAVE ASS big time with ME2 - no english voice over for polish (and many other) version of the game.
I'm not pre-whoring till I know for sure that I can enjoy the game in original... not some secondary rate localization. Without d/l files, .ini and #keys alteration...

Besides, if I'm correct Lotsb is still unavailable for said localized versions. What's the point in making localization when you wont bother to support it later on with future DLCs due to "keeping level of quality of the main game"?

Yeah, so polish fan group encoded ME2 files and did the translation on their own - put up an instruction how to install and all but will we have to go through it again to enjoy the game and DLCs?

I'm curious. I always play games in their original language (if it's in english, german or french, that is...) - and EA games are great for this. Why? Because you always have the option to register the CD key into the EADM (I guess it's now called Origin) and download the english version if it's not already included on the disc.
This option isn't available for you in Poland?

Yeah becouse You was lucky and bought PC version. I bought Xbox 360 after EA Poland lied to me, that  Mass Effect 2 for Xbox have only polish subtitles with original voice acting  ( like it was with Mass Effect 1). Imagine how angry I felt, after I ran a game. Polish voice acting are usually terrible in any games and ME2 wasn't different. Fortunetly I was able to buy UK version, so I can even play LotSB.
Hope that BioWare will be able to give us any info about localization ( I will not trust EA Poland anymore) before date relase, becouse Im still waiting with my pre-order.

To be frank with you - I have no idea what you're talking about. I bought box copy of ME2. Yes, it has ALL the english files included on the disk but its not recognizable by the game - you have to tweak game files and OS keys to "convert" the game (plus a lil'o download files).
I dont give a crap if I am able to DL something from somewhere with EADM - what-the-fu©k-ever that is, I want what I paid for - game ready out of the box.... little to no hassle with installing.

Plus EA LIED to us - they probably knew that revealin the info about no english VO in the polish (and other) ver. of the game would hit their sales in the region... And its not the first time they fu©k things up. Go figure.

Aye, I only had to change the registry keys to enjoy the game in english VO and be able to instal the DLC at all...so, I'm sympathetic with you, I imagine how pissed somebody might be because of this little oversight

Well, formerly called EA (Electronic Arts) Download Manager (thus EADM), now renamed into Origin.

Register your cd key. Download the english version. Play it.

Sure, it sucks if EA said english sound files are on the disc, or could be installed, and it's not the case. But there is a official and legal method to get any language version you desire, from the developer itself. And this is, by the way, possible with all recent EA games.
