Any thoughts? All the characters should at least wear light armor.

Yeah, that's why they cut their hair in the Military, so if they ever have to fight their hair won't block their eyes.

BTW: If women can have long hair, why can't men? Bioware, are you oppressing me into a gender role?!?

To be fair we haven't actually seen her in combat, that suit she's wearing could be her idle gear.

Right at the start of the game when Earth is attacked and both Shepard and Anderson aren't exactly wearing 'combat gear' either so your attempt to claim she should've been in combat gear doesn't fit.
The way I see it, the scene we saw in that demo happens shortly after the trial is stopped due to Reaper invasion, Anderson sends Ashley/Kaidan off with joker to go get the Normandy prepped, whilst him and Shep do some stuff, Ashley probably still wearing her casual gear after attending Shepard's trial.

Catsuits are no more stupid than blue alien space babes, or "mass effect" fields, or the idea that infantry battles in 2183 will be carried out by 3-man units wearing body armour and carrying a rifle that's combat ineffective at anything further than musket range. What's the real problem here?
I guess is that it puts sex where it is not needed. Doesn't fit the image of the series (what the hell ever that is anymore), alliance, or the character.

Liara looked the same as in LoTSB - even wore her same armor (which I like), so I'm happy with Liara's look too (even though it hasn't changed).
As for Ashley? Not fond of her being turned into a Miranda... Miranda was fine the way she was... would've been nice to have a female squaddie who was more... practical (like she was in ME1). Either way not likely to effect me, she died on almost all 20+ characters of mine, so only likely to see her on 1 or 2 playthroughs at most.

I must say, the stripper clothes are nice, but keep that on the ship, and perhaps give them to Liara.
And if people haven't realized it, the squadmates armor are like that of ME2. Because in the Ultimate Collection you get a code for an ALTERNATE appearance pack.
And the Vega image of the armor for him and Liara looks awesome, almost like that of the Halo armor.

You could be right but I doubt it, most likley it'll be similar to ME2 and thats just how she looks at all times.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. I think the series actually does have a sexy image - you always visit a strip club, you can sleep with pretty much any of the women in it (or if you're a femshep you can engage in really freaky xenophilia). The first thing I heard about this game was that there was lesbian sex with a blue alien in it.
As for the image of the Alliance, I'd argue it hasn't really been fleshed out much in the game. Uniforms are hardly consistent. Also bear in mind the Alliance is developing in response to alien cultures. Maybe the catsuits are a nod to the asari?
Finally, what is it about Ash that makes you think she wouldn't wear a catsuit? She promised my Shepard she'd wear a tinfoil miniskirt and knee high boots if he bought her dinner first.

Holy mother of God.
Think about wear catsuits might and might not look reasonable. In a nightclub or gala? Okay. On the battlefield with tons of enemies bearing down on you? Not okay.
And musket range? You must be joking. They're an elite squad. It's not like the U.S. sent in half their forces to storm Osama's complex.
Sheesh.

As I am replaying ME2 now, that dawned on me. Shep has onboard ship outfit and armor for mission outfit. Why not the squadmates? Only one that I thought shouldn't for sure was Grunt. Thane, Zaeed, Mordin, Garrus maybe. Kasumi and Jack possibly. But Jacob and Miranda especially should have had battlegear. And in ME3 Ashley should as well.
It kind of bothered me a little she wore her armor ALL THE TIME on the ship but Bioware when the complete opposite in ME2. I'd hope ME3 would give the squadmates armor for off ship missions and uniforms of sort for while they are on the ship.

I'm so sick of all these characters who go to battle focused on looking cool instead of staying alive. Get over yourselves!!
Back to me1 full armour pls!
