I didn't read any of the replies (for a reason which will soon become clear). All I can say is, please don't spoil the game. We'll find out when we play it.
Anyway looks like he might be setting the resitance up....Im glad he'll stay on earth. That way ill have even more reason to come and try to save it

As mentioned above, Gamespot has an interview with Casey Hudson that shows what happens in the minute or two after Shep jumps aboard the Normandy. Anderson stays there.
Unfortunately, now the speculation is that Anderson gets blown up in a shuttle.
March can't come soon enough.
14:40 in, Anderson does not jump aboard the Normandy in that opening sequence on Earth but does not die there. Dialogue was talked-over but Anderson clearly motions to Shep that he'd going back.

I just emailed Casey and asked if it would be ok if I revealed to you all who lives or dies in Mass Effect 3.
He said: "No".

If Anderson dies at the beginning who is gonna be councilor since some of us chose him as councilor.
Then he quits before the game starts.

Anderson got on the ship same time as Shepard.camcon2100 wrote...
During the end of the earth demo Shepard got aboard the Normandy but there was no scene where Anderson did. Could he possibly die in this scene. I mean it would make sense but I don't want him to die just there. Your thoughts on this? Are we just over reacting.....I dunno but i cant stop thinking about it:huh:
No, he got on one of two Alliance Shuttles.
Because Anderson needs to get the rust beaten off his 1337 spectre-trainee skills by doing guerilla-fighting on earth while we go do our thing, you know...so he'll be ready to assist us when we return to kick butt.

The shuttles that get blown up are from earlier, they do however *spoiler* contain the kid shepard might try to save earlier */spoiler* at least according to PCGamer magazine, Xbox360 Magazine (and all those other ones I bought a few weeks ago for no reason what so ever except to get more info on ME3 (and they all basicly ended up having basicly the same info the money-grabbing jerks:pinched:)).

"Finished our afternoon session with Keith David and his amazing golden voice. Love our sessions with Admiral Anderson!!"
Notice he said sessions.
Also, sessions can run up to four hours.
Doesn't look to me like he's dying at the opening of ME3.

Anderson stays behind because he realizes there are soldiers who need a good leader, especially now. I just hope we get a third line for Shepard since the 2 that are there are dumb. Anderson could be the next Kirrahe or Kelly if we aren't quick enough in bringing help.
Before the network, there was the fleet. Before diplomacy, there
were soldiers! Our influence stopped the Collectors. But, before that, we
held the line. Our influence stopped Saren. But, before that, we
held the line! Our influence will stop the Reapers. In the battle today, we will hold the line!
