I'm curious how this combo pans out? I've respecced (via the raven mod) to make Morrigan into a Spirit Healer/Blood Mage combo (this is my evil playthrough, so I'm using her, Zevran, and Shale->Loghaine), and I'm curious what people think about this?
I'd like to have her with a bunch of auras on with BM active, casting spells from her health pool. Ideally one of those would be the healing aura, but I wonder if this is going to drain her health when I activate BM?
Any thoughts in general?
Also, Blood Sacrifice (her BM self-heal) doesn't work when cast on Shale. It kind of annoys me that she automatically tries to cast it on him when I put it in her tactics.
Spirit Healer/Blood Mage?

Where did you get this raven mod? And I think that is a great idea for a combo.

SH+BM is a beast
you end up with the best healer or eventually a solid nuker with some good support, only drawback is that it require some more management and yep... sacrifice doenst work on shale
but imo is better to not leave sacrifice to the AI as is better to chose who to drain depending on the situation
SH aura is tricky, it doesnt drain health but the mana usage is extremely high anyway so even for a BM is kinda situational. note that with spells as flourish and regeneration and some equip you should be able to keep it up for quite some time but you will have to do a build for that (or sacrifice a comrade to boost your mana)... in the end not sure it is worth, normal heals are seem to be more efficent if you have a designated tank and some cc capability

Right, but if I have SH running in the background (we'll say I only have that running, since I don't have any weapon enchants and I don't really like self-buffs), and I am running BM as well, and as an extension of that casting spells from my health, does the mana drain really matter? I mean, I'm not using my mana anyways.
Also, when Blood Magic is turned on, the debuff part of it only affects heals cast on the mage, not the whole party, right?

yes it affect only the heals cast on the blood mage (basically you can use heals on a blood mage but the bm can heal you np)
for the aura is it true that in bm mode you are not going to use mana, but keep in mind that the aura drains tons of mana so you will have to manage it... also sometimes you may want to pop out of bm to get some healing and is nice to have some mana to keep castingtill bm is up again
note, not saying that aura is crap, just that you have to manage it well to make it effective and that generally normal heals are enought to keep the tank up... but try it out, BM+SH is pretty powerfull maybe save before to get the aura and try it a bit, if you like it and fit your group/style keep it, if not reload and get something else

Again, I can just respec easily enough, so I'm not too worried about doing something wrong.
