It's a hologram to the face!

Hard Light has always been one of those interesting ideas I'd like to see explained more.  I'm sure there is scientific theory behind it, I've just not been able to find anything solid - if you'll forgive the pun.

I just find the phrase he said very amusing, because a hologram to the face is truthfully on par with somone waving a flashlight in your face...It's also annoying because they could have just said "mass effect field" and been done with it. Not like thats much better, but it would avoid using the phrase "hologram to the face"

Naw I thought "Killian Darkkiller Killstein" (or whatever overly nineties name he has) from the upcoming Prey 2 was Ezio in space.

To be fair, a hologram to the face would "hurt" more than to your body.

On your body it does absolutely nothing. Direct toward the face? At least it might blind you a bit when it hits your eyes.

That's hardly a switchblade. If They said the hologram was a visual reference to show a certain proximity in which your omni-tool initiates a series of mass-effect field assaults in a narrow band to inflict penatrating damage with normal punches bludgeoning and give melee strikes the ability to pierce shields/armor better (simple version "I turn on my omni-blade and if you cross the hologram a nasty warp field activates and starts ripping you up right before you get shep-punched"). Or something like that. But the hologram doing damage itself is silly.

Somtimes you want to take someone out up close and personal and the Omniblade is perfect for that. I am excited that I will get to use it, but it is hard to wait for March of 2012. Especially after seen the E3 demos. But I would rather have a good game released when it is ready. Thank you BioWare for giving us this :-)
