I'm not the only one who thinks that the child was a hallucination! Great! But what really gave me the impression was that Anderson didn't notice that a child was there. He didn't even act as if the child existed. Shepard must be undergoing some kind of hallucination. Due to Reapers being nearby or possibly due to the drugging that he had been going through during the events of DLC Arrival. I hope we see more of Shepard's deeper past and childhood. We need to know more of our hero before the trilogy finally ends

Not only that...but Anderson may have been a hallucination.

I call to evidence the fact Shep forces the door open to help him through, then when Shep walks off the door closes again, THEN we the boy vanishes...Anderson is back INSIDE the door...

It might be a little early to say the kid was a hallucination...

Indoctrination, I bet. It's very possible.

It's too early to make a lot of solid conclusions. It's never too early to speculate.

Ehhhh, I'm pretty sure Shepard just opened the door for Anderson as a gesture of respect and because Shep is stronger than Anderson. Plus it's more efficient that way. If Anderson had to open it himself, I'm quite positive he's capable of doing that.

I'll let the seriousness of your response slide because I failed to put */sarcasm* at the end of my post. :P

I really hope that there is an option to save that kid in some way. The scene with him dying literally made me cry.

Not going to happen, the whole thing is to stress how desperate the situation is, but if they go for a fairy tale ending, then I'd guess you will see that kid with leg or arm in plaster alive at the end.

Shepard: Who's that kid...wait why doesn't anyone else see him?
Shepard: Oh, crap. Knew I shouldn't have downed that entire bottle of Absinthe
