Whichever side I pick will put a good friend on the wrong side of the issue. I don't want to abandon the mages to die for the crimes of someone else, but fighting the Templars could bring Anarchy to Kirkwall. I'm just this side of flipping a coin for it.

SO in this scenario kill anders and side with the Templars! When I did that as an Apostate I had all my friends on my side. I have not been able to get the whole party to side with me when supporting the mages in 3 tries.

You need to have all your companions locked as either a friend or rival and do their final companion quests. After that, they will all stand by you, regardless of which side you choose (save for Sebastian, who bails if you do not kill Anders.)

well I do side always with mages and fenris follow hawke every times I did it . tough if u rival him u need 100% have done all his quest and speak to him at the end " if u didn't betray him..."
or around 80% friendship to be able to tell him in the gallow a thing like " i tough freedom from slavery meant something to u? or "I suppose dying with you at my side is too much to ask?" then he will change his mind and side with hawke.

but if he's not 100% rival he WILL NOT FOLLOW hawke NO MATTER WHAT u TELL HIM!

I am almost 100 percent positive that she has got to be bugged. I have tried doing all her quests and not maxing her out. I have tried not doing any of her quests and not maxing her out. I have tried not doing any of her quests and maxing out rivalry. I have tried skipping only the Act 2 quest (sometimes Act 3 as well) with both maxing and not maxing her out. The only thing I haven't tried so far is skipping Act 1 quest, but helping her marry Donnic. Maybe I'll test that out on my next day off.

Oh, and Fenris was also altered between maxed/not maxed/kicked out of party for all of that, too.

well on what i read so far
1)Aveline must be 50% friend or 50% rival but look like the guard must have her thrust to follow her and not atk hawke "not sure just a feeling , pretty sure its 50% rival if u ask my opinion"

2)Fenris Must follow Hawke so Aveline decide not to.

3)Bringing her into the fade must be a good guess becaus its where the loyality of hawke friend or the most tested befor the Last straw quest.

well and yes i know what i am going to say is bad but maybe just maybe using the consol to be sure aveline is 50% rival is a good guess like add approval when she is almost maxed or wtver so she can receive approval and rival point. " but like i said befor be sure to always keep her at 50% rival for the end!!"

Ill continue my various try till i got the good one and put it here.

*Ghostly I have tired skip quest act1 but help her with donnic "since u skiped quest act1 quest act3 don't exist"*

I'm starting to think the patch 1.03 have issue with Aveline like the patch 1.0 and 1.02 have issue with Isabela and sebastian... ugh!

Good luck I am trying too so far I can see having her on 25-30% friendship will not get her to leave you. (No matter that Fenris joins you). This time I will try and go for neutral, but slightly towards rivalry.

I believe she only leaves you if you LEAN toward rivalry but are not at FULL rivalry and you side with the mages at the end of the game.

yeah i tough so too . well i dont know if some1 try to make Anders side with the templar but its connected with the sloth demon in the fade in act 2 so i guess I have to bring aveline in the fade to make her dosent want to side with mages.

i think if aveline see how ppl fall prey to demon she will stop ppl to do it ? "make sense!"

Oh heck no it is not. Where did you hear that? All you need is maximum rivalry, helped Anders plant the bomb, and completed the Questioning Beliefs after that. He also doesn't need to be romanced.

In this case, Aveline will refuse to kill Hawke in battle because she owes her life to Hawke. Instead, she will angrily leave, stating she wants nothing to do with Hawke anymore."

I was talking about Anders, not Aveline. 2nd Hawke never had Anders in her party except for companion quests, meaning she never did Night Terrors with him and she still was able to make him side with templars. I have actually brought Aveline into the Fade before in my ignore all of Aveline's quests file and that didn't work either.

So far, these have been the following party conditions to get people to leave your side.

Fenris - Side with mages, did not complete second Questioning Beliefs (Requires maximum friendship/rivalry to unlock)
 -Have confirmed that he'll go against even if you've maxed him without doing said quest. The only difference is that it's guaranteed that he'll come back with the "Join me" option.

Merrill - Side with templars, did not complete "Merrill, Friend or Foe" (aka Questioning Beliefs), Anders must be maximum rivalry with his Questioning Beliefs completed (basically able to join templars)
 -Same dealio as Fenris in regards to not completing Questioning Beliefs

Anders - Side with templars, do not have him at maximum rivalry/do not complete his Questioning Beliefs at maximum rivalry

There has been no indication that the Fade affects loyalty at all.

Actually you have no one in your party, but technicality aside the crisis point is afterwards when Meridith asks you to choose side. If Aveline don't abandon you there it is too late. When you determind Anders fate you have chosen a site and then Aveline won't abandon no matter if she agrees or not. Sebastian is the only having a crisis point there.

Well the Fade affects loyalty the way that it can give you a major boost one direction or another.

Be a douche to her, don't marry her to Donnic, and when you do the final quest with Jeven, don't give her a chance to speak for herself.

Then side with the mages and she should be siding with the Templars.

it doesn't affect Anders loaylt in any way other way than giving you an either friendship or rivalry boost. It can break the romance, but romance has no affection on loyalty beside perhaps Isabella.

he's crazy but he dont deserve to die becaus he blow up the chantry ! "i think alike the chantry deserve no less as the templar" I would have plant the bomb near meredith but its also where the mages lives so no good the chantry is the templar symbol so i understant why anders blow it up ! "laugh"

Okay For those who want the walktrough to get aveline side againts Hawke u must have aveline at 50%-75% rival U must have done the act1 quest so Javen resent Hawke and aveline. act2 quest u do it till aveline told u why she give those akward gift and refuse to help with her "matchmaking" and when u do act3 quest u dont let aveline a chance to speak for herself in front of javen . "Fenris Must side with hawke tough! so fenris 100% friend/rival* and side with mages. so u can get rid of AVELINE FOREVER!!! YEAH!!!!
