As we all sit around this evening, speculating on this or that, I have been thinking about other possible melee attacks for us CQC fans. We've seen pistol whipping, we've seen the omni-blade but surely there could be more. Would you want to use a shield like the one wielded by the Shadow Broker? Would you Adepts/Vanguards and possibly Sentinels like to biotically kick someone? Please, I'm not saying that Bioware MUST include these in the final product or I'm going to rage and cry and then denounce them as developers, no no! I myself am quite satisfied with what I have seen. This is more of a "that would be cool" topic.

There is much more to be seeing still... I would also like some type of shield so I can feel like a roman centurion from the future, and I think there is a chance this happen...

As long as Vanguard keeps charge and my shottie has a full clip, I'll be happy. Throw in the omni-blade for real close in and we're done!

I want the Vanguard to do a Biotic gut punch or charge in, grab the enemy by his neck and snap it with your biotic fist.

I'd like to see a shield, whether it's a hard light projection, non-Newtonian fluid, or just a thick plane of ceramic like the Cerberus shield troopers.
Likely, if Shepard does have access to a shield, the omni-blade will be its own equip slot, and we'll have a number of blades and shields to choose from. I rather doubt we'd see blades and shields at the same time.
Although I would totally be cool with blade & shield. It'd be like playing as one of my Too Human or City of Heroes characters. High tech shield + high tech blade = awesome.

there were also fully animated melee attacks... i believe i saw this in the gameplay trailer?
