So emotional, I really felt bad for Earth. Everyone really is dying horribly. It was a truly awesome moment.

... followed by seeing how damn hot Ashley looks :pinched:

Yep, Mansell's work is sounding awesome. Not much orchestral crap from what I could hear; sounds like he's got his head in the right place.

i think he's struck a nice balance. he's got the synth going, the piano. its a good mix of classic ME1 and his style.

Clint Mansell might just be the best thing from this presentation.

His compositions are definitely emotional. After the demos today, I am really, REALLY excited to hear everything he has come up with. I can hardly wait.

Clint Mansell will turn ME into something far more intimate than we've ever seen before in this series (and for me, videogames). The metaphorical, highly individually centred nature of the scene reminded me a lot of that brilliant film Moon.
I cannot possibly communicate how excited I am.

That scene hit so hard because I'm really sensitive when it comes to music, and I agree with Comsky, I cannot wait!

Hmm I didn't notice. So that's probably a good sign. More interested in what the combat themes will turn out like though, since those are what set a lot of the mood for the game.

Say what? the combat music is always the most generic and boring. its either the emotional, touching scenes or the kick-ass hero saves the day themes that stick with everyone; see Spectre Induction, Suicide MIssion, Normandy Reborn, Vigil... etc.

Wait. I thought the demo music were placeholder music from ME2 and DLCs... I'm confused.

Not only that, the piece in the Mordin segment was so cool and immersive it got into my head. He totally nailed ME style of music. I have full faith in his work now.

One thing's for sure. Even if I don't get ME3, I'm getting the soundtrack.

ME3's sounds a lot more like ME1 than ME2 did so far and I love that. I think Mansell will do a terrific job.

I agree with all of you. When the kid said "You can't help me." and that piano score in the background, I am not ashamed to say I was genuinely struck by emotion. We have Shep the all powerful eventual savior of the galaxy and this kid puts everything into perspective right at the beginning of the game. I just sat here at my desk in an awe for a minute or so thinking to myself "It just got real" I've always loved his work and now I can't wait to see what else he can do with ME3

Edit: I can't wait to see Hale in this scene!

It was alright. I mean it was only 30 seconds, it's too early to call it amazing.

Where are the other pieces of his work? This one really impressed me, but I didn't notice the other... mostly music I heard were ME1's and ME2's soundtracks.

I was more surprised that there was a child in Mass Effect.

Okay, I feel like an ass for saying this, but I didn't notice any music during that scene...and I was keeping an ear out for it...
