In the demo it's on the right, On the game case, it's on the left.

Or is it on both? Dual-Wielding finishers please! Hopefully that's okay with the dinosaurs on this board.

I assume it would be on the arm that has an omni-tool? Haven't seen the demo though, so I could be utterly wrong.

I think it's both. The omni tool has been seen on both the right or the left hand before.

In the gameplay video, it was on Shepard's right arm.

In ME1 & ME2, the omni tool is on the left arm when using skills during combat.

In ME2 the omni tool appears on the left and right arm in dialogue / cutscenes (no consistancy in this regard)

In the box art, it's on the left arm.

So they've either moved the omni tool to Shep's right arm and the box art wasn't updated to reflect that.... or perhaps Shep has 2 omni tools?

Who knows... probably just a minor oversight.

I think its built into the suit and can appear on either arm.

It's going to be a Starcraft zealot if he has 2 omni tools. ;)

I don't think it is built into the suit. After all, Shep (and many NPC) can use it out of combat. It's just an inconsistency, like firearms in cutscenes. Left-handed omnitool users wear it on their right arm, vice-versa for those right-handed. Shepard has been depicted as both right and left- handed in promo material, so it's never been consistent.

Given that the Sentinel uses TWO omniblades, I tend to think that it's on both...

Necro!

The glow-y parts are holograms. So there should be a mini-fabricator on each arm.

Here is a description for Omni-blades:

Although melee-combat applications for the omni-tool are almost as old as the device itself, the feature was largely unused prior to the Reaper invasion. The need to take on multiple husks in close quarters forced the Alliance to develop ways to enhance the tool’s offensive capability.

The most common melee design is the “omni-blade,” a disposable silicon-carbide weapon flash-forged by the tool’s mini-fabricator. The transparent, nearly diamond-hard blade is created and suspended in a mass effect field safely away from the user’s skin. Warning lights illuminate the field so the searing-hot blade only burns what it is intended to: the opponent.

More technically-adept soldiers frequently modify their omni-tools to maximize stopping power through electrical, kinetic, or thermal energy. Some troops integrate the weapon with their kinetic barriers, transforming the omni-tool into a wrist-mounted bludgeon; others fabricate flammable gases, held in place by a mass effect field and ignited upon impact. All prove deadly surprises for opponents who expect a disarmed Alliance warrior.

Edit: tweaking vague comment.

The omni tool could work on both arms
