He only had a few months left in ME2 but let's say he had 12 months. Assuming ME2 was only one month (which is a very unlikely assumption) and Arrival takes place a month after ME2 ends then he only has 8 months of life yet. Like I previously said, that is assuming ME2 is only one month.

ME3 starts two months after the events of Arrival, so he's still kicking if he survived from ME2.

from a lore standpoint it would be more likely Jacob will be apart of the Normandy then Miranda.. in the Shadow broker DLC doesn't Jacob receive a email from the alliance requesting him to return?

Confirmed in a magazine. Look it up. He'll just be a cameo and will only be relevant to Femshep.

I'd rather have a character that hasn't been done before or see an existing character return.

Talking about the Playstation magazine, guess whos back scan? that was all mere speculation.. not a confirmation.

Jack irritated me. Swap her out for Miranda, Mordin, Thane (if he's alive), Jacob, or somebody else and I'll be good. On that note, I miss my XO, Pressly.

Edit: Unfortunately, Wrex is probably too busy.  I still love how, in ME 2, he was the most enthusiastic about seeing Shepard again.

ME3 takes place 2 months after Arrival. So he either has 4-8 months of life left, and unless he's Drell are robots who don't get betridden or physically impaired from sickness I doubt he'll be a perma squadmate. I had childhood asthma and let me tell you, it was a living hell. I couldn't run, jump, or do anything physically demanding. Even breathing carried it's own risks (sharp intakes of air=coughing sprees). Thane is literally dying from asthma.

I like the character and wished he had a larger role in ME2 but in all honesty, if Bioware includes him in as a perm squad mate then my immersion will break. He can still have an interesting role in the game, perhaps being a sniper who shoots enemies down from a tower, allowing you to approach since sniping isn't physically demanding.

Yeah, maybe Legion was more of a personal hope   (and I forgot about the demo that shows him clearly as a temp squaddie) But if you take out Jacob, I don't really think that's fair to the FemSheps out there.  I mean, where else are they gonna find a finely chisled hunk of man meat like that?  And Thane's dead (or sure as hell better be or I'll be ticked off).  I mean, I kind of agree with you that Jacob's popularity, or lack thereof, is not helping his case, but where have devs already said no to him?

They said no in a magazine. Also, metric data shows that he was the least used romance. He'll probably be an NPC somewhere in the game but he won't be on your team. Also, the devs have said taht the squad is bigger than ME1 but smaller than ME2. I'm thinking that we'll see 8 permanent squaddies.

confirmed by devs? you obviously hate Jacob, but him being temp has not been confirmed.. as said before that "guess whos back" page is just speculation from the magazine.

Do you realise how far of that list is ?

It is more likely that it will be more like:

Well I personally really like your list, I was just trying to think of the ladies out there.  But hey, majority rules!  (And with Mass Effect players I think it's like a 100:1 ratio of men to women, and that's a conservative estimate)

8 sounds perfect to me, I definitely want to see more interaction between the characters.
