the photo (look bottom-left)  says you get an additional mission & character.  However, it doesn't say it's exclusive and the dog is already mentioned so I suppose we can assume it's a squadmate

I'd say that the dog is more like a companion you summon like your dog in DA2. I don't think it's a "companion" like in DA:O

Except squadmates only had 3 abilites each to avoid ovelap adn tehre wass't any party bandter and a lack of conversations for each character. The devs are right. 12 was too big. 8 + DLC is perfect.


And yes, every female LI should be in the game since Miranda was one of the most used squaddies in ME2 since she could bypass any type of defense. Jacob is confirmed to have a tiny role and Thane is near death. I'd LIKE Thane to return but it's just not doable. So Jack, Miranda and one new character would be awesome.

That's cool, except for the part that we get closer relationship with some of the LI, and not all of them.

So I went back and looked at sources.... apparently we're getting three types of squadmates. Ones who we have to take (Confirmed as Tali, Vega, Ash/Kaiden, Garrus and Liara), then we have optional squadmates who will determine what path we take and what endings we get (guessing this includes Jack and probably a few new faces) and then we get some temp squadmates for a single mission or part of one (Mordin and Wrex).

Miranda is probably optional, and possibly mutually exclusive with Jack.

I liked how they did squadmates in ME1, one companion per class plus Shepard as the wildcard. ME2 had too much class overlap and, because of that, they stripped powers to make each character unique.

So, if they follow ME1's structure for ME3, we'll have:

Adept: Liara
Soldier: Ashley
Engineer: Tali
Vanguard: Jack?
Sentinel: Kaiden
Infiltrator: Garrus

Now, since Ashley and Kaiden are interchangeable, we'd need a second Soldier and Sentinel choice. I assume Vega will be the Soldier so...Maybe Miranda for Sentinel?

I bet if Miranda survived and she didn't resign plus she wasn't your LI then maybe we get to see her indoctrinated but since she resigned in my game and was my LI... now that's a whole new ball game

 Eight seems good enough for me. That way we'll know there will be at least two non-previous game squad mates for us to get to know (trust me, you may all want your squad mates from the previous games but when you actually play the game you would then realize how boring that is. New characters ftw!)

Idk for Jack as Vanguard. Her skills were identical to the vanguard class (shotgun+shockwave+pull+weapon ammo) but lore wise she uses L5x implants and is supposed to be an adept. Then again who cares about lore:? Either way, I hope she either grows up or she's dead. No more second chances for that b*tch<_<

Well that's just silly. BioWare has not made any official statements concerning Jacob; while he certainly has a lower shot of becoming a full-time squadmate again than any of the other possible LIs, there has been no true word. Not unless Hudson mentioned it over the past few hours while I was asleep or something.

Also, he has a decently-sized thread on the characters board. To say that nobody used him is... I get where you're coming from relatively speaking, but he definitely has his fans. At the very least his being an LI is going to give him a little bit of valuable screen time.

Please tell us that we'll have a larger crew than just these characters. Having only six team members (seven with the CE) is kind of lame since we had 12 in ME2. Are there any more full-time squadmembers yet to be announced?

Does anyone know for sure if they are actually announcing more full time squad members at E3? I'm just curious. Hoping Miranda is going to pop up in the line-up, I'm not at all fussed about new characters, I'd rather they brought back more of the old ones and worked on their characters some more.
