Hey Bioware, did you switch up the way SMGs are held?...i.e 1 hand utilizing a foregrip/certical grip, instead of holding them like a pistol.

No.. at least not as of E3. Liara is seen carrying a M-4 Shuriken in the E3 footage and she wields it identically as in ME2.

I also don't think there will be, as we've seen the Tempest and Locust SMGs also in the arsenal (screenshots of Liara with a tempest ... and Cerberus with Locusts)... all held in the previous manner.... and there's no appropriate foregrip designed into any of the SMGs, so they'd have to do some alterations for that animation (Though Locust has a proper foregrip).

They also don't have a stock on them similar to most modern day smgs (or at least foldable stocks) and I don't see them adding stocks either.

The problem is not the design... but the naming & classification of the weapons in question. They should have simply been called machine pistols, as that is 100% precisely what they are... they do not fit the general definition of submachine gun (far too small.. and save for the Locust, far too inaccurate to be considered SMGs over the more apt machine pistol).

I'd like to see the locust SMG held using the foregrip, but I doubt the devs will judge it a worthwhile investment of time to redesign the weapon hold animations for just one gun. Unless of course they introduce more SMGs with the same grip hold design .

The Shuriken is probably a pistol now.

The M-4 was shaped like a pistol. I'm wondering about something like the Locust, which is shaped like a SMG, with a foregrip.

If there's a foregrip on a gun, it'd make sense if it was actually used.
