Seriosuly? Who attacks the geth when they're about to be wiped out by the reapers. Yeah, you get your homeworld back only to be melted down into goo to build a reaper a few days later. How dumb can you be?

As stupid as the other races that tries to reclaim their homeworlds? Like... the human race?

Actually, if you pay attention to what we have seen and heard, nobody has started anything AFTER the Reapers began their invasion o Earth.
The trial? Started before the invasion.
The crew splitting up for some unknown, mysterious, odd reason? Happened before the invasion.
The salarians working on a cure, started before. Why. It seems as if everything started before the invasion, not afterwards.
(And the chit? If you pay attention in the game, it was not stolen. The volus was wrong.)

EDIT:  And I forgot the most important thing.
Admiral Han'Gerrell said "And we need a place to keep our non-combatants safe." (paraphrased sorry)
How do we know they are actually at war and not just negotiating with the geth?  We don't.

It's about timing. They have waited more than a hundred years. To decide now is the time to invade is stupid. Heck if they waited another couple of years the Reapers might have even done their job for them. Alternatively if the Citadel races don't manage to defeat the Reapers and the Quarians wanted to run off and hide somewhere, they would do so in the migrant fleet anyway without a massive waste of resources.

Ugh. I'm more disgusted by the backlash than the actual topic.

The claim: quarians are stupid
The defense: Krogan, Salarians, Asarians and every other thing is stupid

This topic could of been a funny-friendly banter about making fun of tali's people, instead you guys took it too seriously. I should get use to this communities' ability to kill good topics.

Do they know the Reapers are coming? Sure, they knew Sovereign wasn't a Prothean ship, but Sovereign's existence doesn't prove the rest of the Reapers are out there. I doubt the quarian leadership believes Shepard and co anymore than the Council does.

You talk to them and they acknowledge the Reapers in ME2. They know they are coming.

That plan is also very stupid.

You know what they also said? That they need a safe place to put their non-combatants on before going to war.

That plan is also very stupid.

It's not a plan as such its just accounting for a possibility. The Reapers are going to go around planets wiping out life. That includes Geth. If the Reapers wiped out the Geth on the Quarian homeworld and were then defeated, the Quarians could just move back in without having to fire a shot. How is that stupid?

And this is what we are saying is stupid. Non-combatants are going to be much safer in a mobile ship than a planet which is on the Reapers hit list. And attacking the Geth is likely to be extremely costly even if successful.

Because there's also a very good possibility that the Reapers might go after the quarians too.

They will go after the Quarians as well but it is much harder to go after a target that can move and you don't know where it is.

A two-front war against two separate synthetic species (one of which is hyper-advanced) with such a small population prone to disease is unwise.

Well, I hope Tali and Legion will be able to get a truce between them.

And about the prone to disease part, I'd like to share a very well written post on the matter by Pride Demon: http://social.biowar...01510/2#7402477

I'm sure the Quarians are somewhat like the Systems Alliance in that they believe Shepard, but to a certain point. Really, the only race on Shepard's side concerning the threat of the Reapers are the Salarians. The STG witnessed indoctrination firsthand and they're not so quick to dismiss a proven claim as quickly as the Council and the other races. At least, that's what I've picked up.

It would be terrible if that Captain on Virmire was already indoctrinated before you meet him and he goes back to the STG a new agent of Harbinger!!! I would hate that!!!

But he might be following orders to the "T," that is how Mordin got scarred after all, so I hope indoctrination is not involved for Kirrahe.

Hold the Line against indoctrination!

As a whole they don't believe in the Reapers, like pretty much the rest of the galaxy.

But even without the Reapers their attack plan is doomed for failure, and as an already threatened species, it risks their extinction. Short of making peace with the Geth and negotiating a return to their homeworld (the best option), the Quarians would be much better off searching for a new homeworld. The galaxy is a big place with billions of planets.

You're missing the point.  Every single ship larger than a shuttle in the Migrant Fleet is filled to the gills with non-combatants.  They can't go to war with their warships cram full of refugees.  Besides, we don't even know if they are at war wit the Geth.

If that was the case how do they intend to retake their homeworld? However it isn't isn't true. They have a small navy, research ships, scout ships, manufacturing ships, liveships etc etc. I'm not suggesting they should engage the reapers with their fleet. But launching an attack on the Geth now is not a strategically good move.

It is true, the majority of their ships are filled with noncombatants.  Smaller scouting vessels are the exception.  Again, who says they are at war with the Geth.

The migrant fleet is 50,000 ships. Even with the majority stacked with civilians that is still a lot of ships. And they do have a combat wing. We don't actually know they have attempted to retake their home planet although it was strongly hinted they were about to in ME2 and is rumoured for ME3. This thread is taking that as an assumption
