yeah i fully agree, central characters and those who had stories worth looking in to.SkittlesKat96 wrote...
Why on earth does everybody want squad mates from the previous games for ME 3?
I like having a lot of squad mates from the previous games but I want to have new characters on my team, it would be just insane to have the only new person be James Vegas...
I wouldn't mind if like maybe five or six out of eight (not that we know how many we'll have in ME 3 but that sounds reasonable) were fro mthe previous games, that would be alright, but having it be like say seven to eight would just be silly. Even IF all the people from the previous games are the most elite in the Galaxy I'm still itching to get to know more characters.
Anyone agree with me here?
we are going to earth for the first time, so i hope they give us a few options to recruit

Permanent squad members are like Miranda or Jacob or Tali or Garrus in Mass Effect 2. You recruit them, you keep them until the end of the game and you can use them on all sorts of missions.MrGone wrote...
Maybe I missed something (I haven't been to these forums in like . . . a month till today) PERMANENT squad members? Like those you keep in your team the whole game? Or something else? I'm confused as to the context here.
Temporary squad members are like Liara or Dr. Kenson in Mass Effect 2's DLC - you only get their services for a mission or so, and then they go back, off doing whatever it is they do in their spare time.

i hate new characters. I fcking hate james vega. who the fck is he? i want garrus, liara, ashley, and all the other old ORIGINAl squad members. NO NEW MEMBERS for this game. Vega should be removed for someone in ME1 or 2. Its the last sequel. I am fighting against reapers. I dont need new friends.
Now how do you really feel?
You could consider the fact that Bioware may be able to create new characters that you absolutely love, just like they obviously did in the previous 2 games. But that just might be crazy!

As long as there are only two out of eight characters being new I'm fine with that. I don't want Bioware to fondle those people who purposely killed off their companions in the Suicide Mission by offering ample replacements. If you killed off 4 out of the eight possible companions that's your fault. (I'm not speaking to you directly, merely those who feel they are entitled to replacements^_^)SkittlesKat96 wrote...

Is that what we're calling them then. Perms?
I thought it was "full" squad members.
(though actually that makes less sense - full of what?)
Perms it is!

Why make new characters with only a single game to develop their personalities when you can further develop already established and fleshed out characters?SkittlesKat96 wrote...

Because there are already too many and it just seems a little illogical

Because for some strange reason BioWare decided to add drama to ME2 by making all the squadmates killable.Arcian wrote...

So for balance reason alone you need a whole new crew anyway and can only add members of the ME2 crew as service for the fans. But since a squad-members needs a lot of resources to be developed you cannot bring most of the ME2 crew back as full team-member.
Also it is fun to meet new people.

Garrus
Liara
Tali
Virmire survivor
James Vega
6th NEW character dubbed as "Vigilante"
everyone else is possibly temporary.

So because there are too many existing characters you want to add more characters and develop them? I fail to follow your logic:?SkittlesKat96 wrote...

Bioware said that ME3 will have more than ME1 but less than ME2. So either 8 is the sweet spot. But yea, not thane or jacobHellbound555 wrote...
