Since we'll probably only have 8-9 + DLC this time around tehre will be less overlap if we get more. So are squaddies going to be more versitile?

Bumping again since squadies lacking versatility was my main complaint with ME2.

I actually care a lot about this too. They were kind of set in assigned roles in ME2; we should definitely have more control over how we build our squad (years of kotor have branded this idea into my brain).

I guess we'll see what Bioware does with the ME2 feedback; I'm skeptical because their main feedback was $$$, and business sense says don't rattle the cage...

Squad powers in ME1 worked better imo, but then again there were only 6 of them.

I think they definitely should get another skill or two, but considering we can multi-evolve powers now, there should be more variation between squaddies and builds :)

It's confirmed that both shepard and squadmates will have more abilities.

They'll have more, I just wonder how much more. Either way, I already have these classes in mind for the confirmed squadmates so far.
Vegas=Infiltrator
Ashley=Soldier
Kaidan=Sentinel
Liara=Adept
Tali=Engineer
Garrus=Infiltrator

Vega always struck me more as a vanguard. He's kind of a big guy.

I'm just guessing from the VGA trailer. I know Bioware has said that's not Vega but it looks like him and he has a sniper-rifle. Then again it would make sense if he was a Vanguard since that would complete all 6 classes... yet it would also instantly condemn him to death in a Virmire situation since I play vanguard and he's the "new guy"...

No, it has been confirmed Shep will start with the same powers (s)he has in ME2, plus one new and unique power for each class. From what I've seen in the demo - Soldier only uses ARush and CS - the 'new and unique' power might very well be the melee attack (let's hope not though).

As for as I know the only thing confirmed about squadmates is that they will have only two weapons - like in ME2.

More powers are also kinda useless; ME3 will have the GCD system so you can only use one power at the time. 3 powers per squadmate is good enough, let's hope there will be a little more customization in how we want to evolve their powers.

Agreed. Hopefully, BioWare improves squadmates' AI though.
