So what do you think?

It is rather uncanny. Halo: Reach also did this in an odd way, with arms/shoulders looking like sticks compared to their male counterparts (though the legs were equal...)

Ashley and Femshep should have had MMA fighter type physiques.

It doesn't really look right. FemShep at least *now* has the excuse of being a cyborg. Ash doesn't have that excuse. (and Miranda/Jack/Samara/Liara all have some biotic ability).

I always found it jarring that Femshep, Ashley,Miranda, etc all have the same physique as someone like Kelly. It really stretches believability when you see femshep punching out Turians with bare fists or carrying Kaidan over her shoulders on Virmire.
Ashley and Femshep should have had MMA fighter type physiques.
But this swings both ways - Udina, Pressly or Engineer Adams with the same body frame as (male) Shepard?
That said, I fully agree, the one size fits all bodies are sometimes quite odd.

Yeah FemShep and Ashley could've used some muscle definition.

Shepard also can be a biotic. Carrying someone can be done in a burst of adrenaline.
I'm going to play a devil's advocate, and say I'd prefer Shepard/Ash/Miranda and who else have you remain as they are. What's wrong with wiry/slender builds? Why does capable leader need to be synonimous with a bodybuilder?
If you guys are talking a model rework ala Dragon Age Origins vanilla model -->Dragon Age II vanilla model, fixing proportions and aethetics, sure I'd get behind that.
Shepard suddenly growing 20 kilo of muscle mass... I personally don't see this being very appealing.

That is problematic as well, like seeing someone who sits on his ass all day like Joker being buff.

Shepard, Ashley and Miranda are military combatants and one such requirement is to be physically fit(and no that doesn't equate to being a bodybuilder).

Mmmm, I'm on several forums where you waould be chased out for saying that. Lets not also forget that this is science fiction, everything they do would be well received by some fans.SilentNukee wrote...
I agree, but...What can we do? Sex sells. You don't want them too muscular or it won't be appealing. :[
Anyway, the real reason everybody has about the same body type is so they don't have to do a bunch of extra work for the different sizes and shapes. That's most likely why we didn't see females for most races either.

In the military she would be expected to carry a certain amount of weight. (probably over a certain amount of distance in a certain amount of time).
Because they're in the military and it has fitness requirements. It doesn't look believable to me to have a skinny female punching people as hard as a muscular male.
Her being a huge bodybuilder? No I don't want that. What I want is some muscle definition and tone like a gymnast or a runner. She looks way to skinny to me.
Which is probably why they wouldn't do it.

She is an elite soldier, there is no excuse, you have never been disturbed before. So why now ?

Well, I mean, if you're complaining about how Ashley's clothing choice makes her look un-soldierly, it's only a hop, skip, and a jump from there to noticing how her entire body doesn't look very soldierly - and, by extension, how FemShep's body doesn't look very soldierly.Sylvianus wrote...

Femshep's (lack of) physique has always been a pet peeve of mine.

do you have any idea how much work and specific diet + supplements it takes to have a body like that, with that low of a bodyfat content? Even professional gymnasts are not as defined.
fitness models look the way they do becasue its their job. its ALL they do. train to look this way. look at the sirque de soleil acrobats one of these days. now those men and women are exceptionaly strong and fit and flexible and capable. but... they look pretty nromal sizewise. wiry one can say.
this above? female MMA fighters don't look like that either, unless they double as fitness models. some might have bigger arms, but this above? femshep woudln't have enough time for something like that.
