I think a bit of plot armor, but we could also assume considering the hammering the Normandy dropped on it that the Reaper may have not had full functionality. First it gets bombed by the Normandy and then hammered by fleet ships - entirely possible it wasn't anywhere near 100% but still fully able to chase and run them down.

I believe you're talking about "Escaping Earth" Demo when we're actually talking about the demo with Legion in it.


Anyways, I can go with the Reaper's weapon system going offline after the orbital strike. It was a pretty big hit after all.
