Yep, I can see him dying - but not in the intro.
He's a well loved character, and it would make no sense to kill him off in the intro before new players to the series have a chance to develop a fondness for him.
Ahhhh, but therein lies the rub!
Did you have a fondness for Jenkins? For wilson? No!
For a new player, Anderson will be their Wilson.
For us . . . it will be tragic!
Then I will stand on top of my soap box and declare in one loud voice
That the choices we made don't mean squat!!!
SQUAT!! I SAY!!!
But you speak truth....it would be nice to buck the trend and NOT have the intro dude die.
Actually, you brought up another point . . .
We never get to make any choices about Anderson really, none that truly matter.
If we put him on the council, Udina still ends up next to him and still in a lot of power, with Anderson kind of resenting the role. If we don't, well then it's the opposite.
In either case, that's the ONLY choice the player makes concerning Anderson's fate. He's relatively untouched by previous player choice . . . which means he'll always be around to die AND it wouldn't feel too mean to kill him, as you never actually made too many choices as an "investment" in his character. Unlike say Garrus, who you made many, many choices concerning his fate for two whole games . . . and could still die in a rather inclorious manner at the end of ME2.
Anderson's chances are looking more grim all the time!
