What's to stop Anderson from being the Kaidan or Jacob equivalent instead of the Jenkins or Wilson one?

Thats what I think is going to happen. If thats the end of the level like it seems to be, then whoever they're going to kill off this time around, if they are going to kill them, is already dead.

Hopefully Anderson stays behind to organize the human resistance on Earth.

Hmmm.

A good point in the "Anderson DOESN'T Die in the Intro" Tally.

But even then, he could still die to the clock.

And he was just two days from retirement, too. :(

Conrad will die at the start, saving Shepard's life.

Yep, I can see him dying - but not in the intro.

He's a well loved character, and it would make no sense to kill him off in the intro before new players to the series have a chance to develop a fondness for him.

I wouldn't be 100% sure that he dies at the beginning, I was watching all the footage last night and I swear I heard him say "Heads up Shepard" during the scene where the Atlas Robot comes flying down.  Now that scene will be way after the Earth scene.

Ahhhh, but therein lies the rub!

Did you have a fondness for Jenkins? For wilson? No!

For a new player, Anderson will be their Wilson.

For us . . . it will be tragic!

I'll make the funeral arrangements. Someone needs to contact the next of kin, also be sure to inform Kahlee Sanders, Anderson's girlfriend and long time assosciate.

Now, before I pick out the coffin, I'll need to decide on a suitable song to play during the ceremony. Hmm, decisions, decisions...

ALSO! To the point!

Anyone else see the new Old Republic intro?

Notice that the Jedi Master, shall we say . . . pulls a Kenobi?

Signature BioWare Murder-Death-Kill . . . AGAIN!

You know who really needs to die in the 1st mission? Udina. He has a name, he has some importance, and he really is also unimportant as well. Plus he's a *insert alias of a female dog here* to everyone. If he dies, people will not care, but still care because he's a big politician. People like Anderson should die later, possibly when it comes to the climax.

Then I will stand on top of my soap box and declare in one loud voice

That the choices we made don't mean squat!!!

SQUAT!! I SAY!!!

But you speak truth....it would be nice to buck the trend and NOT have the intro dude die.

Not just the Jedi Master but also the Sith Lord. It's a rule: Bioware hates teachers.

Here is what I learned from Star Wars:
If you're a Zabrak, avoid dual lightsabers
If you're red-skinned, avoid dual lightsabers
If you're a red-skinned Zabrak, then you just deserve what's coming to you

Just because the new player is a total idiot doesn't mean the rest of us should suffer for it.

There´s also Jade Empire. Instead of killing one of your friends, only one of the supporting students escapes alive.

Trying to be more optimistic, maybe Anderson chooses to stay behind to help coordinate the defense of Earth.

I'd make the whole " . . . they changed it now it's terrible/STREAMLINED?! OMGZ!" connotation here . . . but it seems redundant somehow.

New players won't be accustomed to anyone, so anyone else can die instead.

Plus I bet you the unnamed Alliance soldier picking up Shepard and Anderson gets knocked out of the hangar when a stray shot grazes the Normandy.

Typical action-movie moment.

But especially if they also work in Public Education!

hmmmmmm.

You know, I've yet to see an actual teacher in a BioWare game. Like a 3rd Grade teacher I mean.

What's the deal BioWare? Why do you hate Civil Servants? Why must you kill off those that only wish to spread knowledge!

Won't someone please think of the children!!!!

Actually, you brought up another point . . .

We never get to make any choices about Anderson really, none that truly matter.

If we put him on the council, Udina still ends up next to him and still in a lot of power, with Anderson kind of resenting the role. If we don't, well then it's the opposite.

In either case, that's the ONLY choice the player makes concerning Anderson's fate. He's relatively untouched by previous player choice . . . which means he'll always be around to die AND it wouldn't feel too mean to kill him, as you never actually made too many choices as an "investment" in his character. Unlike say Garrus, who you made many, many choices concerning his fate for two whole games . . . and could still die in a rather inclorious manner at the end of ME2.

Anderson's chances are looking more grim all the time!

All the teachers are off protesting and petitioning the imperial senate for better pay - they couldn't make it in time to bein the camera shots.

Or maybe he gets left behind to help organise the resistance, as folks have said Bioware have done this too many times already.

I also think this is what's going to happen... that's why he didn't make the jumt to the normandy, since he's not part of Shepar's crew and it would be his dutty to stay behing and organize the demoralized and out-of-focus troops.
He'll probably get from Captain to General for his work with the resistance :police: in one of my games games, he's also the human councilor, which makes him too important to die at the hands of level 1 reaper minions;)
