Anderson 'stays behind to lead the survivors'. honestly, cant see him living long there, he is one of my favourite characters, but i cant see him surviving this one, or anybody else for that matter.

He is in the possession of the voice of Keith David, the most dangerous (and sexy) vocal weapon ever designed. The Reapers will be too busy squeeing with glee to do any reaping.

"THIS PLEASES US, ANDERSON."
"Have you  heard my Ramirez routine?"
"NO, BUT DO TELL *GIGGLE*."

Man, I hope they skip the gratuitous death-in-the-intro thing. It was tired and boring in DA2 after all the other times they used the same schtick, not even worthy of an eyeroll and a sigh. It's time for something fresh, isn't it?

The Thing couldn't kill Keith David. Doubt the Reapers can kill him especially if Alliance Ranger Ramierz is around.

Die in the intro?

Nah...rather we lose contact with him, and have him die in some fantastic way when we go back to earth for a later mission or something.

Definitely.  Every Bioware game I've played has had someone die in the first mission, and they keep trying to emphasize how anyone can die. What better way then killing off a loved character right at the beginning?

I doubt he'll die on that mission, but who knows, maybe I'll be surprised. Haven't we seen how it ends, with the Normandy picking you up? I can imagine him choosing to stay behind and keep fighting on Earth, while Shep needs to go off and get help. Maybe he dies eventually, but I'd bet against it being then. Some stray bullet suddenly and randomly hitting ANDERSON, of all characters, just doesn't seem Bioware's style. He's no redshirt like Wilson or Jenkins. Anderson going down Noble 6 style though on Earth? I could see that...

I'm less concerned about Anderson getting killed in the intro scene, and more worried he'd get indoctrinated. Worldwide Reaper invasion -> worldwide spread of indoctrination fields.
