He looks more like an officer in the present day, what happened to the blue uniforms?

Makes him look like an Sgt. Avery Johnson clone.

Hope that ain't the fate soon to be for him.

Why would Anderson be fighting a ground war in his bloody dress uniform?

Do you see American marines fighting overseas in their marching dress uniforms (blue & black I think? With the goofy white cap? Dunno its exact appearance, not American.. but I've seen it in movies).

No.. they fight in... wait for it.... body armor. Anderson is wearing a light armor vest similar to what you'd see police officers in the real world today wear.

Seeing as how they were in the middle of Shepard's trial when the invasion began, I assume it was the best he had time to swap into.

Sheesh.

Right... and you just assume that in the whopping 3-5 minutes of footage of earth we saw, you can already determine that at no point did Anderson have perhaps 20-30 secs to throw off his dress uniform jacket and slip on a vest?

For god's sake... Shepard is in a light vest too.. so clearly a lot of time has passed.. hours perhaps... it's obvious Shep had time to find a gun & vest for himself, so why couldn't Anderson have found the 30 seconds or so to do the same?

For all we know, Shep & Anderson are at the trial in their "dress blues" (Hackett's quote)... invasion occurs.. Shep & Anderson take a pistol and body armor from a security / police post somewhere and proceed to run like hell to find a way off Earth.
