After looking at all the information and vids from ME3 at E3 I kind of have a concern. ME is originally a xbox game, that has been successfully ported to the PC. ME1 got a small overhaul to adept it to the PC, which was great, but ME2 didn’t which was mildly annoying (no shortcut keys, obvious and clumsy console menus). However ME2 had a better natural layout of the keyboard controls. Shift for pause, space for run, cover, jump over, use, pause and Q-E for squad commands worked really well.
However for ME3 BW has said to make a different control for cover and jump over, there are going to be grenades again, melee attacks will be more important (and it could be two controls, one for blade and one for elbow/gun hit) and there will be a roll move. This while, I presume, keeping the squad commands.
On a xbox controller this isn’t much of a problem. There are 8 buttons and two joysticks for the moving. This is not counting combining buttons. These controls make the action very smooth and you probably will be able to run, cover and roll fluently. However using a keyboard and mouse I foresee some issues, especially since gameplay is more fluent so keys have to accessible on the fly. Meaning having delay between pressing the run button and roll button could be annoying, especially on higher difficulties. In short I fear that porting the controls from xbox to pc might cause problems. This has two dimensions, the for mentioned hell of a lot of buttons to control Shep with and the lack of a pc specific interface (no ‘J’=journal or clumsy console menus which you have to click through, no mouse scrolling or even a divide in the game cause of disk switches on xbox).

My request therefore is that BW tune ME3 specifically to PC use. In short make it as good as possible on PC, specifically for PC. Not doing xbox or ps3 short or anything, but something like tuning ME1 for PC (but better please). This also stands to reason cause ME sold as well as or maybe even better on PC than on Xbox. So please BW take a good look at controls on PC and develop an pc interface. Sure it will take more work, but pc gamers deserve this since they do represent the biggest part of the gaming community (http://software.inte...-its-pc-gaming/).

I can understand your concerns, but I think they're moot at this stage.

Traditional WASD gives you at least ten keys within rapid access with your left hand, all of which are usually commonly used in most games requiring the WASD setup.

Now - I'm opening up pandoras box a little here, but I imagine the controls will be similar to Crysis or COD - which isn't a bad thing control wise - and indeed - ironically - the control of the mouse and keyboard combo on PC tends to be much faster and accurate than an xbox or playstation control (thats the second pandoras box...)

So no, I don't think there is anything to worry about what so ever.
