She seems to have her eyes and lipstick back in the Alternate Costume. Though I think they're sticking with her ME1 look for the original costume.

This pic supports my theory (and hope) that her face texture in the E3 demo was a placeholder.

This is promotional art for the game. She's probably supposed to look like this, instead of how she looked in the demo, which had other examples of placeholder content (Mordin/Wrex's voices, the Mattock using a vindicator's HUD icon, the music on Sur'Kesh being recycled from Arrival, Garrus's holstered weapons clipping with his model)

With respect TMA, I doubt she'd only have that facial appearance with the alt appearance pack. That would mean she'd have a separate head morph file for one outift, and not only is that unprecedented, it's also unlikely.

Casey: Lots of questions on the CE appearances image. It's an early mockup for color - faces etc aren't final, in particular James and Liara.

So they might change it.

I for one found that the sudden change in LotSB was unwarranted and broke immersion. I really like how she appears in this screenshot, it's sort of in between ME1 and LotSB, but leaning heavily toward ME1 which I prefer. Much upgraded from ME1; mostly the normal and spec map. The diffuse texture is rather similar but unless it's just some difference in the lighting or shaders, the eye shadow seems to have been touched up and the lips have definitely been touched up. I'd like it if she stayed exactly the way she is in the screenshot; it's amazing.

LotSB is clearly, far superior. It looked enough like her that it was obviously her and it was better looking. Bioware would be foolish to go back to ME1 look. They're probably just polishing things up tho so i wouldn't worry

No. My guess is that she wanted to impress Shepard when he went to her apartment, so took drugs to change her skintone and eyes, put on some blue lipstick, and bought a damn good combat scientist suit, before a sniper tried to kill her.

I too prefer the LoTSB face, but contrary to most, I actually prefer that greyer skin tone, don't know why, just looks right to me.

There's been a noticable increase in the size of the Mass Effect ladies'... um...

...'upper frontal protuberances', since Mass Effect 2. At the risk of sounding unmanly, I'm not wild about it. I like that the girls in ME1 were a bit more thin and lithe and didn't have two silicone globules grafted to their ribcage. It looked more sleek, and it set Mass Effect apart from most video games, where 'bigger is better' seems to be the prevailing 'wisdom'.

I totally agree.  And you don't sound unmanly.  And I know a few people who don't think 'bigger" is "better."

It's too white.  They need to stop playing around and just use the LofSB look and be done with it.

I just don't understand why they waste all that time working on Liara's face model while they can just use her (significantly better) Lotsb face model. I just don't get it...
