By the poll so far, Lotsb look has a clear preference

This is one of those things that you'd think Bioware would come out and say what was up; not like it's even close to a spoiler...

I would argue that these numbers are not a clear representation of preferences for a couple reasons:

1. Because we've seen limited footage / pics of the new Liara, and we haven't spent extensive periods of time interacting with her like we have all of the other face models.

2. Because this poll is buried deep within this thread. (although this is currently being amended; I do think the poll should be advertised in the topic so that people know it's in the OP)

Did they ever explain why her appearance changed in LOTSB? I always assumed it was her entering the maiden stage, but I don't think an explanation was ever given. In any case, I hope the LOTSB face stays.

No.  My guess is that she wanted to impress Shepard when he went to her apartment, so took drugs to change her skintone and eyes, put on some blue lipstick, and bought a damn good combat scientist suit, before a sniper tried to kill her.

Oh god, wake me up.  This is 98% ridiculous.   The only non-ridiculous thing is 'My guess'.

Her Mass Effect 3 look isn't a downgrade at all.

Comparing to the Lotsb one it looks like it
The scalp, beside being too white, lacks the detail and elegant transition of the lotsb texture. In my eyes the M3 version of Liara shown in the demos just look too awful to ignore.

Besides, what happened to the gorgeous blue eyes Bioware? the skin at least i can reemplace with textmod in the PC if im not happy with what they make of her in M3, but the eyes cant be changed, please bring the eyes back :pinched:

What irritates most is that they keep changing her, if they made the big jump from the M1 texture to the DLC look already, and the last one got highly accepted, i dont understand why they would want to change her again.
If it continues like that at the end of the series when people make a Shep/Liara video, it will look like Shep is dating different asaris instead of just Liara

I don't think her scalp lacks detail but it definitely does lack that elegant transition. I'm hoping they do put her unnatural blue eyes back, I fell in love with those things. I'm definitely not a fan of her always getting a makeover. LotSB seems like the perfect look for her.

I wasn't exactly being serious. Though in the first ME book, Sanders changed her skintone within minutes by taking some form of pills. The eyes however needed contacts. But the answer is that there is no explanation.

I hope you weren't serious...they just redid the model for her...simple.

Because it's nothing but a 'let's pick apart Liara's looks' ****** fest.  I remember when they did the same to Miranda pre-ME2...it sucked then and it still sucks now.

Blame Bioware for not being consistent.

Though, do you not care simple because you can mod her later to your liking?

I don't care b/c I'm only concerned about the writing of her character in ME3. I don't give a flippin flap what model they use.

Well, we won't learn about the writing for a while. All we know is who's currently writing her (Sylvia Feketekuty).

You don't care, but that doesn't me you don't have your own prefers.

I'm more of just bothered by the random changes between games.

But you support the LotSB change from ME1/ME2.

As for my preference...I don't care...just don't eff up the character.

She possibly does but I don't mind as long as they don't revert her character back to ME1 Liara.

Not really. Yes, I like the new look in LOTSB, but it always messes with my head seeing her in her ME2 look, and then minutes later, seeing her radically different. I never liked how the change was just thrown in like that. At least in ME2, you're told it's 2 years later.

I also have a problem with LOTSB being the only version where, for brief moment in time, she had unrealistically blue eyes, less flakes on her scalp, less textured skin, and blue lipstick.

I want Bioware to be consistent.

I prefer the conflicted and more capable Liara from ME2 as well.

I don't think you'll have to worry about that.

But what's all your worries? Want to discussed in the Liara thread?

They already threw that baby out with the bath water.

Liara in ME1 = Liara in ME2...same face....consistent.  That was 2 years later (she was the same).

They did something completely new in LotSB.

If you were a purist, you'd support the old look, which is closer to what we have seen in ME3.

You're missing my point. If they made her ME3 model to look more like she did in LOTSB, then it would still be consistent. By going back to ME1, it's LOTSB that stands out as the inconsistent one, and stands out for it.

In LOTSB, she has more scaly skin.

I think the ME3-model looks great, from what I can see. But it's hard to say when we have such limited media to see her in all her glory.

I'd advise you all to bury your pitchforks for another cause.
