So what could it mean? What in game reason can be given? Liara changing the way you see her using her mind? A rare side effect pure bloods have? A weird fashion trend, where she goes as far as changing her eye color?

As someone who has been a fan of Liara since ME1 and not just since LotSB I say they need to stick with the ME1 face. The pics of the LotSB face just look bad.

It's Liara.

It does sound and look like her but that answer is so WTFish that I really have no idea except wild guesses.

Looks? It's the character writing I'm more concerned about. Liara in ME1 was naive. She was barely 100, and kept herself sequestered in Prothean ruins while her contemporaries were shaking their ****es in sleazy bars or running with merc bands. Physically she'd still be in her maiden years, but mentally and emotionally she had to mature in a hurry. She participated in killing her mother. She came out of ME1 emotionally scarred.

In some cases she was Shep's LI. Then Shepard dies at the start of ME2. Two years go by, during which she's betrayed by the Shadow Broker. Recovers Shepard's remains and gives them to Cerberus for reconstruction. Her Drell friend ends up being tortured, but she thought killed. So yes, that explains her obsession with extracting revenge. And in LOTSB she gets her revenge. Now she becomes the Shadow Broker.

This is where they need to pick up her character: strong, powerful, and of genius intelligence. Her looks? I'm not going to be picky just so long as the new looks aren't a big departure and that they treat her with respect. She's my canon LI.

PS: I noticed most Asari on Illium had purple faces, but it seemed due to the redness of the sunlight.

Well, since her looks might be starting to become apart of the character writing, if there's a reason for it, then it's something to discuss.

Makes me wonder if it's something similar to her mother looking different depending on what you drink.

Liara's too young to be entering the Matron stage let alone exiting it.

Yes it can. Parents of Asari children can be of any race and gender.

Friendship has nothing to do with race or gender. I'm just saying, it ain't Shepard's kid if you're a friend, and I doubt Liara would be fighting on the battle field, pregnant, with stuff like this happening.

Interesting.. Interesting.. I do believe Priestly mentioned something about Liara fans being quite, quite miffed at somepoint, disappoint, upset, angry, worried? The works, I don't have a viable backup, but IIRC he put something along those lines with is usual "" smiley.

Now, there's been some sort of disease mentioned, potentially fatale.. that a squadmate contracts or whatnot, life/death situation. I wonder if the colour change has anything to do with that? Darker, and in honesty, she does look a tad sickly.
Mayhaps going on Kai Leng's pic, of him inflatration the Normandy, or that's.. my interpretion, that Liara was poisoned, infected, took something that was meant for Shepard as sacrice/unknowing of doing so.

People have mentioned her looking a rather sad, might have a connection, eh, just my thoughts and in honesty it does make some sense.

If her change in LOTSB is explainable, and doesn't go overboard, then I'll have no problem with her looks being changed back in ME3.
