I think the "all men love big ******" stereotype needs to die already.

But... we do.

That said, I'd rather they didn't go up and down and up and down like balloons at a birthday party.

Liara in ME1: same body as everyone else.
Liara in Shadow Broker base: BOOM!
Liara in Shepard's SR2 cabin: normal.
Liara in ME3: BOOM!

Doesn't she have a huge cleavage hole now? I'm a little more concerned about that.

There's been a noticable increase in the size of the Mass Effect ladies'... um...

...'upper frontal protuberances', since Mass Effect 2. At the risk of sounding unmanly, I'm not wild about it. I like that the girls in ME1 were a bit more thin and lithe and didn't have two silicone globules grafted to their ribcage. It looked more sleek, and it set Mass Effect apart from most video games, where 'bigger is better' seems to be the prevailing 'wisdom'.

I agree, but you have to remember what age group and gender most gaming companies are targetting, the horney teenage computer geeks, or simply, male players (ex: Miranda body design and Jack's outfit and Morrigan in DA:O).  Gaming companies are doing the same thing that hollywood has been doing for years.  Unfortuantely the number of female gamers has been increasing rapidly over the years and gaming companies haven't adjusted their designs to accomodate them or to make the charater designs more appealing to them (althought look at the modeling for Jacob in ME2).  I am secure in my manhood but I don't like the female designs when they accentuate the breast area (especially for a character that suppose to be a soldier), I prefer the characters to look natural and realistic or at least some variety in body style, I would take small and perky over large and sagging anyday.

Yeah I'm not wild about it either. At least two characters (one who used to be a soldier and one who used to be a scientist) are now "sex bombs" with useless holes in their armor. Awesome treatment of your female characters.

I don't know why everyone gets into such a huff over armor.

A) The kinetic barriers are obviously small devices that can be built into clothing - as seen in ME 1 on light armor. That armor is VERY thin.

B) Notice how usually in stories the more armor someone has, the LESS useful it is? Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie = No Armor. The hundred of Stormtroopers they've slaughtered = Armor.

Yeah, when you've got kinetic barriers, might as well look good in your armor that you don't need.  That, or a bulletproof nudity clause... reminds me of a scene in Cleopatra 2525

Sarge: You're very concerned about the way you look.
Cleopatra (Mocking): You're very concerned about the way you look. Please, like those exposed midriffs are functional.

Thick armor must really protect those guns of hers.

Can we go back on topic? If you want to complain about body type, exposing suits, and catsuits, there's either the Ash thread, or other threads. Because all of that has nothing to do with Liara in ME3, from what is revealed.

They did an amazing job updating Liara's look in LotSB without changing her essence. Hope they go back to the LotSB look for ME3--it wasn't broke, so no need to fix it.

I'm truly conflicted. I loved her in ME2 pre-LotSB because her eyes and skin had that purplish hue. I'm never ashamed to admit my favorite color is purple but its Liara, and I'll love her no matter what shade of blue she is.

They can always give her black lipstick in alternate costume.

I prefer the LotSB look, but Liara is awesome no matter what, its more about the whole personality and voice acting that gets me, but you can't deny that her eyes in LotSB were mesmerizing.

I thought you were talking about Liara's actual face model Gillian Murray.  OP got my hopes up.

I'm revoking your man card... effective immediately. Turn in your balls and gun. A 30 day suspension should help put things in perspective. :P

If by 'impressive' you mean 'absolutely gorgeous' then yes!

By the way: TMA - Nice job setting up this topic.

I really hope that the stuff we saw at E3 was just placeholder art/models, 'cause I'm absolutely in love with the redesign they did for LotSB. I just think it fits with the lore more closely, given that it's much more in line with her mother's coloring. More than likely I'll actually mod the game so that she's got that skin in ME1 and vanilla ME2 next time I play through.

And yeah, please take the boobs/body type discussion elsewhere. This isn't the right thread to do that in, let alone the right forum.

Well, I like the lipstick as a way of showing her becoming more of woman, as she gets older. It also makes her looker more like her mother. And it gels well with her. I like her scale like skin and unnatural eyes, because they make her less human, and more alien. And her LOTSB skin tone makes her more full of life, which feels like right since her 2 year mission is over.

I'm more concerned over them effing her character up.

Well that ME3 promo art from gameinformer with Shep, K, and Liara had her LOTSB look, and so did the N7 edition pic. So it was probably a placeholder in the demo. idk why

Looks like Liara has been sucking on a big blue lollypop that has permantly stained her mouth. Her skin tone almost looks like a radioactive blue instead of green.

Speaking of which, her alternate outfit has a head piece:

It's hard to tell if it's just a Justicar thing, or if asari wear them ingeneral. I know a Cerberus News report says asari wear flower wreaths on Janiris' day.

Didn't they confirm she will be using the LOTSB a while back?

I mean I'm all for it. They put so much work into making it look quite good, to only use it for a 1+ DLC would be a waste of effort.
