Hi, this morning after updating AVG and running a scan it found what it calls a "Trojan horse agent_r.AHH" in the following file:

C:\\program files (x86)\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age ultimate edition\\bin_ship\\nxcharacter.dll

I think its a false positive, especially after reading about avast picking up the same file with a similar infection, but im still posting this to find out more.

can anyone provide any help?

thanks

Don't forget, there's very little "Official" oversight here. EA is the official support, and they contact AVG to raise hell there. No one among the gamers here can do that and have any clout while doing so.

So for those you who wanted a more complete explanation here, Yes, it's a "False Positive" and the problem is corrected with the latest definition file.

You can retrieve the .dll from the "Vault" (quarantine folder) for your system if it helpfully removed it and now your game won't run. ;-)

I've alerted Rob Bartel, but honestly, this is going to be on AVG to fix. Meanwhile, users can consult links in this post on AVG's free forums:

If this error is persisting, to get DA:O working again, you can add the dll to the Resident Shield exception list.

To do this, open up the AVG UI, and go to the Resident Shield Component. At the bottom is the "Manage Exceptions" button; click it. Click on the "Excluded Files" and then "Add". Navigate to the file, and open to add it to the list.
If AVG has moved it to the Vault, you'll need to first restore it. Under the History Menu, choose "Virus Vault". Select the file, and click the Restore button.
