No it's true, it appeared on the description of the Collector's Edition on the new EA Origin website, but they have now removed that specific line, on the Mass Effect website as well. Guess it was meant to be a surprise. ^^
Actually, nope... Bioware person dropped by in another thread (might have been Chris Priestly I think) and said that was scrapped awhile ago but they forgot to delete the text for it.

"We need a plan to stop them!"
right before that dreadful "fight or die" line.......................... C'mon Sheploo. You're not that thick-headed.
Right?

I thought that was Udina...Jonathan Shepard wrote...

No, it's definitely not Udina... it's a differenct accent, and there's an odd calm-like quality that both Vigil and the distorted distress message on Ilos both had. Still, I'd be disappointed if some Protheans actually were around. Not because it wouldn't be awesome (it would be), it just feels like a cop-out of them actually being extinct. I mean, if we find Protheans now... why didn't they warn the other races?
Unless Shep finds them and wakes them from stasis? Yeah, let's go with that.

I wouldn't use one line of a voice you didn't see as evidence of a Batarian. I thought that voice was supposed to be Wrex's. I think that would make more sense than a Batarian given the mission their on. Also, some of the voices are just placeholders until they get all the recording lines done, which is why Mordin's was not the original voice actor.

The "Fall of Earth" on the ME3 site. That has the same audio tones and quality as the only other Prothean voices we've seen. Doesn't mean much, as I think it does sound a bit like a Salarian, but like you said: there is no way to really tell.
On Sur'Kesh, however, when the Atlas mech drops, I think that IS Wrex saying "Shepard, you have incoming." or whatever. Mordin, even with a placeholder voice, still sounds like Mordin.

No one mentioned a Batarian, and we're not talking about the segment on Sur'Kesh. We're talking about the "Official Gameplay Trailer."

Oh, sorry. Clearly I need to read slower. I've been reading about the batarian thing in a couple of other places, don't know why my mind just jumped there.

Not accurate. What was actually said by Chris Priestly was, "Sorry, that was a mistake from old text. It is being removed. Hate to be a killjoy." LinkHathur wrote...

Therefore the placing of the text on the N7 Collector's Edition was a mistake. Nothing was said about the DLC being scrapped, only that the text being present on the description for the N7 Edition was a mistake.
They may have decided to release the DLC separately and/or at a later date for development reasons.

I don't know how someone can make that kind of pretty obvious mistake, though.
I don't believe the character was scrapped, I think it was just an accidental reveal. We'll see soon enough.

Glad this isn't coming to pass, it was a terribly silly idea.
Yeah. I agree.
It would make the Reapers look sloppy, leaving Prothean things intact left and...oh. Right. Mah bad.

As much as I think it'd be intriguing to have a Prothean character/squadmate, I think that spot should've been left for a more 'Legion' type scenario. In that we know he exists but we didn't really know how he would fit into the story. Am hoping that is the reason why they scrapped the prothean from the DLC idea.scyphozoa wrote...

As for Reapers letting one get away, you mean like Vigil and the ones on Ilos?
