So for those of you counting, that gives us six living squadmates: Ashley/Kaidan, Vega, Liara, Tali, Garrus, and Prothy. I wonder who the last few characters will be...

Nope, Prothy is definitely the DLC. Bioware really screwed up with this one, letting it slip seven months early. Oh well, more info for us.

Basically, Prothy was deemed too important and moved from being a DLC squaddie to the vanilla game. He *was* originally going to be DLC but BioWare changed their minds after it dawned on them how utterly stupid it would be for a Prothean to be DLC only.

No it's true, it appeared on the description of the Collector's Edition on the new EA Origin website, but they have now removed that specific line, on the Mass Effect website as well. Guess it was meant to be a surprise. ^^
Actually, nope... Bioware person dropped by in another thread (might have been Chris Priestly I think) and said that was scrapped awhile ago but they forgot to delete the text for it.

Well, you'd make a poor judge.

How many times did Casey Hudson and Evil Chris "deny" multiplayer? How many people decided to interpret their vague, non-committal, politician-esque rhetorical responses as absolute refutation because that's what they wanted to hear?
I'm not pointing fingers here, but anyone who didn't learn from that experience that when bioware says no, without saying no, what they really mean is "yes, but we're not going to say it", should go and get a brain scan. Just don't be surprised when it comes back negative.

It isn't always the case, but it's a good rule of thumb that when they deny things in that way they either have plans for it, or are just screwing with us.
It's often both.

I mean this in all seriousness, and am honestly not being snarky or derisive here; but could you actually provide me with an example of that? (By "that" I mean Bioware screwing with us in the aforementioned manner) I would be most grateful, and wasn't trying to come off as a know-it-all in my previous post. That said, I feel a pretty solid conviction in my assesment.
