The Protheans are supposed to be extinct. Let's keep it that way.
You'll probably get a chance to send the last one on his/her/its way if you really fell that way during ME3.

Hmmm a prothean squaddie? Not overly excited by that but also not disappointed by the idea. My only concern is if he/she looks like those prothean statues all over Ilos, the ones with long tentacles down the face. If he/she does look like that, then i'm leaving them in their room in the normandy, those statues were creeeepy!
......
Well unless they were in that sphere thingy and shrunk with it, a tiny tentacled prothean may be tolerable on the creepiness scale.
Hey! Femsheps might appreciate a character with prehensile tentacles attached to their face! Just think of the romance options!
*thinks*
Ewwwwwww *shudders* thanks for the disturbing mental image!

The game isn't coming out until 9 months from now and there's already A DLC Character? That's kind of troubling actually.
Bioware did the same with the damn prince in DA2

The scientists made it to the citadel prepared it and left afterwards to hide somewhere (perhaps in stasis) till the Reapers are eventually defeated or to help defeat them.
They could not just openly survive as this would have provoced a swift Reaper return.

Nonono, I'm not worried about that - what I'm saying is that finding a living Prothean would be a pretty monumental event in the ME universe, and so shouldn't be relegated to an add-on. This should be part of the main storyline.Thargorichiban wrote...

I'm fully in support of a Prothean teammate, except for one thing: it seems like it would fit far better as a part of the main game than as an optional DLC. So, in a sense, I hope that the DLC char isn't a Prothean.... so that we can instead have a plot-integral Prothean in the main game.
(Heck, perhaps they're pulling the DLC precisely so that it can be integrated into the main plot? I would be down with that.)
I'm sure they're making the Prothean be like Zaeed. As long as you get a new copy of the game, you'll get him. The only ones who will be dissapointed are Gamefly users and people who buy used copies.
(Compare, as you mention, to Zaeed: Zaeed is great fun and all, but he doesn't impact the storyline in a major way - he's just another badass for your team (one which I really like). Not downloading Zaeed, for whatever reason (price, purism, no disk space, whatever), doesn't fundamentally alter the ME universe. Meeting a Prothean does, and is much more like meeting Legion.)

No, it's definitely not Udina... it's a differenct accent, and there's an odd calm-like quality that both Vigil and the distorted distress message on Ilos both had. Still, I'd be disappointed if some Protheans actually were around. Not because it wouldn't be awesome (it would be), it just feels like a cop-out of them actually being extinct. I mean, if we find Protheans now... why didn't they warn the other races?
Unless Shep finds them and wakes them from stasis? Yeah, let's go with that.
I'd rather had a Prothean clone instead of Grunt in ME2, anyway. C'mon, a Prothean suqadmate in ME3 would be just freakin' awesome!!!! Gief plx!!!11

In all seriousness though, maybe it's some type of VI/AI left behind by the Prothean's top scientists that would activate when it sensed the Reaper's energy signatures in the galaxy once again and it would attempt to assist the now dominant species(s) in their fight against them. Basically being like "This is what worked, this is what failed, mass accelerator weapons do some damage to these things, etc." I think that's a very plausible and pretty cool idea.
I'd be fine with either and would prefer at least one or the other.

I'm not sure at 100% but I think it's Kirrahe the voice at the end of the trailer.
while I don't know if its Kirrahe I can definately say its Salarian. it sounds nothing like Virgil however don't know where people are getting that from.

Haivng the Prothean as a DLC is excellent - because it means I don't need to have it in my game.
If it was an integral part of the vanilla ME3 - I might take issue. This way though, if down the track I feel the need to give it a whirl after Ive completed the game a few times, I can.

It makes no sense for it to be Kirrahe. He's dead in over 50% of people's playthroughs, whereas Prothy is alive for 100%.R3MUS wrote...
The voice is definelty Kirraeh the Salarian. You clearly hear that.
Besides, it sounds nothing like him. Kirrahe speaks more nasally and with a higher pitch. The way the voice emphasize the words makes it sound exactly like the Prothean recordings on Ilos (not Vigil, but the security console recordings).

Yeah but who among those trillions would be important enough to discuss the necessity of plans to defeat Reapers with Shepard if not Prothy?Someone With Mass wrote...
Because there's no way that anyone else among trillions who isn't a Prothean might have a similar voice.
