I don't know why ppl wouldn't want a prothean team mate or adviser , think of all the great dialog . . . Especially with Liara ,and all the loose ends and mysteries that could be resolved
And as far as them being alive after all this time look at Grunt or Shep , data and dna could be stored in some form disc or sphere and Mordin or someone could replicate the prothean from that . . . Think Leeloo from 5th element , how she was replicated.
I think it would be cool and they don't necessary have to be an actual squad mate but maybe an advisor on your ship . . . They could have all the knowledge and wisdom of the prothean ppl stored in that one prothean similar to Grunt

I don't think it's an absolutely ridiculous jump to make, honestly. We know the Protheans at at least one planet had themselves cryogenically frozen. Sure, the power eventually failed, but there were thousands of Protheans there. I wouldn't be surprised if one, somewhere, had managed to make it in a similar process.

The only explanation would be that Protheans live for 50k years, OR it is genetically created through a Jurassic Park style model. Both of which would be ridiculous in my view.

There is a third option, the original protheans who managed to make it to the Citadel after retooling the keepers got the place up and running got a shuttle and moved over to a world not far away (the codex is rumored to have mentioned said world and a strong link to protheans) these few people made a colony and had kids and so fourth until Shep shows up and somehow they all know about or you get a group who think they've hit it big on the whole reaper thing from logs their ancestors left and then one or a few decide to help shep out. I hate this idea too nothing irks me more then running into a convenient plot colony or plot gang who miraculously know everything about your bad guys and even better want to risks their lives to help you because having your species collective asses kicked once by the reapers is no deterrent to try the same thing twice  They also had only 12 or so people who conviently survived which science says is all that is required to make a viable population but with such a small group inbreeding is inevitable unless they're plot immuned to such things. I bet we also find them with technology and not living in huts.

Really I'm with you I hate the idea of a prothean squadmate dictionary who helps me shoot things. It makes it all feel like a colossal waste of time, energy, and Shep's sanity to just have a prothean know it all appear and solve all the mysteries and point out all the reapers weaknesses and evil plans to us as one big spoon feeder. I really hope this idea got scrubbed or at least is shelved for DLC so players who don't want the thing don't even have to deal with it.

This.. Could be interesting in more ways than one. I can actually have a conversation with the prothean which would be awesome on its own, and just imagine the **** storm that would happen if I brought the Prothean to the Citadel.

I'm going to be getting the ME3 CE and I will be very disappointed if there isnt a Prothean Squad mate that comes with it. Or at least a Prothean Squad mate I can download even if I have to pay for it secretly.

I don't think that he's the DLC character. I mean, I haven't read the leaked script, but according to people that have it seems that this Prothean is somewhat essential to the story?

i don't think its entirely implausible to involve protheans however i think it would be more likely to have another AI like Virgil, they wouldn't have all the info on the reapers as lets face it the were ****** when the reapers invaded last time, however i think their speculation would be usefull, also i wanna see the massive gun that took out the reaper seen in ME2 ^^

Right..... so far heard that the DLC squadmate will be a Prothean or Batarian , the craziest one that it will be the Shepard VI program.
