Why do you *want* to post your ugly mug on the Internet when you *know* some people are going to own up and call you out on being ugly as sin? I didn't post my face on any board until I knew the people who would see it, trusted them and felt they wouldn't just post an inflammatory comment and then leave. This is HIGH inadvisable!

And my axe. The head was a quid or two from a second hand toolshop and I made the handle myself. Not great work but, to be fair, it was my very first axe handle so I wasn't expecting a masterpiece .

Have a been an active member for now? No, but I just recently been through my first play(now working on the second) and am eager to start becoming a member here. If you don't like it so what? I don't mind being told the obvious. I know I have a ugly mug, but I have a high enough self-esteem to get potential flamatory comments spit in my face without it affecting me, that would perhaps otherwise scorch me like hot coffee. I'd change that warning of yours to: "Don't post a picture if you're going to cry if someone gives you a negative comment". I see nothing wrong with post your picture topics when you don't care if someone would want to make jokes on your expense.

I also find it amusing that, unlike many of the fine folk in this thread, I actualy managed to get someone else to hold the camera for me instead of standing in front of a mirror with some dodgey hand held device.

Why not?  Hell, some of us take great pride in being ugly as sin. I know I do.  Personally, I couldn't really care less what people who I know in real life think of me, so you might be able to imagine how little I care what complete strangers think.  And trust me, I've been called some names in my time!  Heck, I was even called a monster on the local news by some rich arsed lawyer over a couple of punks I arrested.

I'll clue you in on a fact you obviousely don't know yet.  The ONLY opinion that matters about your personal appearance is YOUR OWN.  Someone thinks you're ugly?  So what.  The world won't end.  God himself won't turn his back on you just because someone doesn't like you based on a criteria as shallow as appearance.

Another factoid.  People who insult others based on appearance are saying a WHOLE lot more about themselves then they are about the people they flame.  Basically, that they have low self esteem, are shallow, petit, meanspirited, etc.  And, ultimately, powerless.  Because they can't do a thing to you except rail impotently from behind a computer monitor.
