I love Thai food as does Deena. Also I'm a really good at preparing Filipino delicacies as well.Statulos wrote...
To me, what really shows your skills among knives, pans and so on is the capacity to adapt receips to different tastes. That is, reduce or increase how hot something is (I really like spicy food, thai chili is always in store), turn it into vegetarian friendly or not, substitute ingredients and even with that, make the general taste of the dish remain the same.

For Filipino food, I have had great experiences thanks to some family friends who were born in Manilia (though they look and talk absolutely Spaniard, even when they use the little bit Tagalog language they remember...) and brought the cooking secrets with them. And yep, I really like that too.

Nonsense! If I was your grandmother, I'd pinch those dimply cheeks!

some years ago someone pinched my cheeks... if someone tried now I'd probably smack them in the face without thinking about it as a response =)
It would be worth every moment of pain and discomfort.

No, my dear, the pain is not the source of pleasure. The pleasure comes from the playful cheek pinching (And the possible baby-talk. "Who's the pwitty Mia-boo? You're the pwitty Mia-boo!"). The slapping is more of an..."acceptable consequence".

Asian blood and curse in the same sentence? No way! I can tell you that my best GF was an amazingly lovely Japanese lady. Good times, good times.
Don't get me wrong, I like my Asian lineage(I'm a quarter Japanese/Thai), but by some strange twist of fate I'm the only one that looks Oriental, besides my grandmother who is 100% Asian(also the only person I look related to since I got my Asian features from her). My mother is half Japanese/Thai, and my half-sister is a quarter, yet neither of them remotely look Asian in the slightest. They both look completely Caucasian despite most Asian genes being dominant.
So while my half-sisters enjoy their amber, hazel, green, and blue eyes, along with light brown and dirty blonde hair, I can only watch with envy because I got the Asian side of the gene stick.
Asian side = Only black and brown hair/eye colors

My main gripe with being Asian is...we need some eye/hair colors besides black and brown.
I have a bit of Irish in me from my mothers side. Funniest thing happens to me because of it. Despite having very dark brown hair, I'll occassionally find one bright red hair growing, naturally, on my head. It's really weird.

So you got thai blood too? My mom is from thailand and my dad is from france. That somewhat makes me a eurasian but without the blonde dye and when i grow my facial hair, people mistake me for an arab and i got hauled in for a spot check in the train station twice.chiliztri wrote...

My half brother looks more caucasian and i dunno but i tend to be 50% each.
You want to know the irony? I got into fights with the muslim community in my country over the flipping iraq war in school just because i was born in the states, sometimes i curse at the mix blood i have because of these racism **** i get in my country.
It gets even funnier in this country, they preach the importance of "Racial harmony" but that crap is non existent seeing every race hates each other here, muslims aren't allowed in the airforce and in politics, the chinese don't get any help from the government when the malaysian born people do, the caucasian community is completely cut off from the local culture etc etc.
The only reason why racial riots don't break out is because our system is similar to north korea ergo(authoritarian) extremely harsh punishment and you get condemed for life, it just happens that our government isn't as brutal as theirs to the extent of getting executed.

my sister has blonde hair,my brother brown but neither have asian features. I think I'm very blessed to look like my mother, who's Filipina and I'm also the only one that took an interest in learning Tagalog from her. Go figure. Its a strange world indeed...lolchiliztri wrote...
