Ah, Lea. You are just too good to be true! Hi! I'm Mark by the way! Nice meeting you! :P

Pleasure's all mine, good sir. And while we're at it with the formal introductions, have we actually seen a picture of you before?
If I overlooked it please forgive me and/or direct me to the right page, so many pretty people in here it becomes harder and harder to tell everyone apart :D

Since I'm looking semi-human again today, I tried to do the "blowing a kiss at the camera"-thing for real - but it seems Mia will have to give me a "how to", I just can't pull it off...

Only result was a series of absolutely idiotic looking pictures, where my facial expression indicates that I am stifling a yawn or trying to imitate the cry of an exotic bird, much rather than blowing a kiss:

Posted Image

... yeah. I think I'm giving up on the issue.
I'll just go with my tried and tested pirate expression for pictures from now on.
(To say nothing of the fact that the yellow light in my bathroom makes me look kinda like I'm suffering an icterus right there...)

Well, I think you look just fine and not silly at all. Those are the loveliest pair of lips on one of the prettiest face I've seen in quite some time :))

Asian blood and curse in the same sentence? No way! I can tell you that my best GF was an amazingly lovely Japanese lady. Good times, good times.

Don't get me wrong, I like my Asian lineage(I'm a quarter Japanese/Thai), but by some strange twist of fate I'm the only one that looks Oriental, besides my grandmother who is 100% Asian(also the only person I look related to since I got my Asian features from her). My mother is half Japanese/Thai,  and my half-sister is a quarter, yet neither of them remotely look Asian in the slightest. They both look completely Caucasian despite most Asian genes being dominant.

So while my half-sisters enjoy their amber, hazel, green, and blue eyes, along with light brown and dirty blonde hair, I can only watch with envy because I got the Asian side of the gene stick.

Asian side = Only black and brown hair/eye colors :crying:

So you got thai blood too? My mom is from thailand and my dad is from france. That somewhat makes me a eurasian but without the blonde dye and when i grow my facial hair, people mistake me for an arab and i got hauled in for a spot check in the train station twice.

My half brother looks more caucasian and i dunno but i tend to be 50% each.

You want to know the irony? I got into fights with the muslim community in my country over the flipping iraq war in school just because i was born in the states, sometimes i curse at the mix blood i have because of these racism **** i get in my country.

It gets even funnier in this country, they preach the importance of "Racial harmony" but that crap is non existent seeing every race hates each other here, muslims aren't allowed in the airforce and in politics, the chinese don't get any help from the government when the malaysian born people do, the caucasian community is completely cut off from the local culture etc etc.

The only reason why racial riots don't break out is because our system is similar to north korea ergo(authoritarian) extremely harsh punishment and you get condemed for life, it just happens that our government isn't as brutal as theirs to the extent of getting executed.

Wow. So uhh, which country are you living in right now?

I think you pulled it off....quite beautifully.

@ SithlordExarKun.
You don't look Arab (I should know, I am one). Strange if they mistake you for one.

Your never know what kind of genes are running in your blood; so if you ever have offspring, maybe you´ll be surprised. A varied gene pool as yours is the best way to abide nasty inhereted diseases.

I mean, I´m the most culturaly (geneticaly is a different story) dull person ever and who knows, maybe if some day I have kids they could get the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen in a man, and those belonged to my dad...

For my part, the only weird trait is my size; I basicaly look like an average Iberian but with the size and complexion of a germanic guy.

Tagalog is one of the most awesome languages I have ever heard. It feels absolutely weird that I can get some words here and there from a language that is spoken in the Pacific while I come from, well; where I come from.
I don´t know really how complicated is to learn it, but it´s great that you you´re interested on it.

Awww, thank you nyte, you're so sweet!
My lips are actually among the features I favor about myself, so I'm particularly flattered to be complimented on them ;)

@ Knight, I'm glad to hear it, as the attempted air-kiss goes out particularly to you in part, naturally (and in part to Godak for the delicious and very effective soup, of course!)

@ Mia thanks, I still think you must be a natural talent, though [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]
I guess it's one of these things that you cannot explain, you have to be born with the "photogenic-while-blowing-a-kiss-at-the-camera-gene"! ^^

@ Steel Moon, thanks, I love the necklace as well, it's a very pretty Dream Catcher design.
I got it from a lovely indoors alternative market called Boscombe Underground in lovely Boscombe, UK (for the the incredible price of only 2 pounds no less), and they have a great outdoors market and lots of second-hand shops in that area as well, very recommendable should you ever find yourself at the British coast during summertime...

The Phillipines were a Spanish colony for a long time, hense spanish is mixed in with the tagalog. Tagalog is only one of eight major and around 6-7 minor languages spoken in the phillipines depending on where your located in the 100 plus islands!Posted Image

I know; but interestingly enough, what happened with Tagalog is quite unique since Aymara, Nahuatl, Chiché, Tahino or Quechua are languages also spoken in countries which were former Spanish (Castillian, actually; Spanish only from the XVIII century on) colonies  have not imported grammatical structures and vocabulary from Spanish (Castillian I´d say once again) like Tagalog has.

The effect is simple: while I undestarnd spare words from Tagalog and it does not sound completely alien to my ears, Nahuatl or Quechua sound absolutely different and unrecognizeable.

Interestingly enough, there is almost no words from Tagalog in Spanish while all the other languages have given us words here and there such as "huracán" (Hurricane, from the Tahino, "strong wind") or tomate (tomato, from the Nahuatl "tomatl").

Interestingly enough, I belong to one of the few families whith no ancestor settling somewhere else. I´m the first person who "does the indies" (as it was said in the old times) since the first Caribbean colonies (I have my family tracked till XIV century).

So I guess I now carry the burden of being the "cosmopolitan" guy who has to come back and tell about the big world out there.
