I am glad I downloaded the demo and played. I was planning on grabbing this on release day but now will pass.

Poor low res graphics. Zero character customization. Change armor and it still looks the same. This game makes Sacred 2 look like perfection. I am supirsed that Obsidian has there hand in this and SE would publish a game that would have fit the market well 10 years ago for the PS2.

I really wanted to play as Katarina. Pistols shooting magic missiles and all that.

I played the Demo - I didn't enjoy it, got to the Chapterhouse and the game was bugging me

1. The controls were diabolical
2. The camera and interface were absolutely awful.
3. Facial animations were choppy
4. Story looks generic and rubbish, bit like a copy of Origins story, I was hoping Obsidian would draw me in with a dark mystery like in KoTOR2 but obviously not. Destroyed ancient order blah, hired thugs blah, honestly didn't care.
5. Graphics were dull and the enemies blended in with the background
6. Levelling up was a confusing piece of crap.

Played the demo a bit but was disappointed, looks like a bad console game.

I don't think i will be getting the game, maybe when it's about £10 and i have no other games to play.

I didn't think it was terrible, but I think Torchlight can hold me over until Diablo 3 comes out.

Dungeon siege2 was the first video game that I'd ever played, and I was amazed. Will be getting this one if only for nostalgia's sake.
Have to say though since discovering the amazing writing and immersion of bioware's games no other company compares.

I played the demo, finally. My impressions were mixed. DS3 looked pretty enough with settings maxed out. I noticed a few low res textures on Guiscard, but the environments looked polished. Animation in dialogue was awkwardly stiff. Guiscard and Odo moved their limbs and heads as if their torsos were glued in place and struggling to break free. Expressions were virtually nonexistent and when they appeared, too artificial. It looked like they were both running through a looping animation routine when speaking.

Voice acting was a mixed bag. Odo was okay. Guiscard was better. Anjali sounded terrible, and no, not because of her archon echo. Rather, her voice actress's delivery was awfully wooden.

Combat smacked of "Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance". Normally I would consider it a good thing. I loved those games. DS3, unfortunately, has pretty lousy controls. Other than the intuitive W,S,A,D arrangement it was clunky. Camera control was downright terrible; with barely any ability to zoom out. Spinning it was cumbersome in the midst of battle.

Tap combos, special moves, and blocking were all there. I did like that blocking matters, as it did in "Dark Alliance". I also liked that health was not replenished with potions. It made it so I could not steamroll battles and conveniently heal when I got careless. The mode switching idea was a good one, I think, and I enjoyed hopping between spear stabbing and setting morons on fire.

Art was okay. Contrary to what someone else wrote earlier, armor does change. I found a breastplate for Anjali on the first map and equipping it altered the design of her outfit from neck to hips. There is definitely lots of loot around to play with, but most of it just shifts stats around. Typical "Diablo" fare, I suppose.

What I saw of the story was okay. The premise was nothing special, but there was enough of a hook to make me curious about what happened next. Jeyne Kassynder interested me as an antagonist despite being a bit of a cliche.

Animation was smooth in movement and stiff during combat. Anjali's spear swinging had that DA2 frame skipping effect to convey a sense of speed in her attacks. Movement also reminded me of DA2. The dreaded hipsway has returned! Although it is smoother in DS3, I find it as sad now as I did then. But really, I was not surprised after the massive chest sizes. :P

All in all I do not see myself buying this game at launch. It *feels* polished, but between clunky controls and a bland premise, I am hesitant to buy it on day one.

Well I tried the Demo and it was even worse than I expected. Forcing you into pregenerated characters might have been forgivable if those characters were interesting. Anjali's voice is so terrible and flat and unemotional it might as well have been computer generated. Was actually painful to listen to.

And sadly, Katarina, the only interesting sounding one of the lot isn't playable in the demo. I did meet her briefly though. Her voice wasn't nearly so bad. But did sound oddly like a female Zevran.

Controls and interface are terrible and confusing on the PC side. You can use the mouse but can't actually click on things. Nor can you customize any of the keyboard commands.

Story seemed uninspired as well so far. A little forgivable there, but I got really tired of them saying the villain's entire first and last name every time they mentioned her. (which was every other sentence). I wanted to kill Jeyne Kassynder purely on this basis alone.

And again, no mule.

If Obsidian refurbishes the PC controls before release, I might still pick it up. As stated in this thread, the story premise did seem interesting. For a Dungeon Siege game, though, there simply isn't enough action. It's supposed to be frantic and non-stop.

I think it was a mistake from Obsidian to let players only try to generic fighter and fighter/mage characters. Katarina & Reinhart seemed much more non-conventional & exciting to play in previews.

Good summary and that's how I felt about it as well.
Can't put down a final verdict on just a demo but as far as the demo went is was a 70/100 for me.

Torchlight was totally worth the $10 I spent on it. If anyone has a need to play a Diablo 2 clone, this is it. I really enjoyed it.

I agree . The graphic are simply awful but the best part are the recommand spec.Graphic wise that game game should be able to run on my geforce 4 ...But recommand a 200 GTX with a I quad Core ?

I`m not complaining since i have a recent rig .. But it's ****** me off to see such ugly game requireing such high spec. They're really pooping on the consumer head with their propaganda.

Won't buy it.Won't support any crap like this.. At least The Duke don't hide the fact that it's does not need modern hardware.

The control and camera sucked and i literraly spammed 2-3  attack during the whole demo.Boring.

Videogame villians really need to be able to be referred to by a single name. That just came off as awkward.

Agreed on Torchlight. Can't wait til the sequel comes out. Completely worth the price.

And also agree on the Jayne drinking game idea. By the time the opening finished I'd no longer remember my own name, let alone hers.
