i hope they're just reskins of guns that exist in the game.
im sick of pre-orders and collector editions getting all this exclusive content for no significant reason. if im paying 60 bucks for the game, i expect the full game.

collectors editions should have COLLECTOR items in it. like soundtracks, art books, making of dvds, ect. not game content. thats BS.

i absolutely hope these are just reskins.

I'm pretty sure it's either this, or game prices increase across the board.  The video game industry isn't immune to the ecomony problems.  For a lot of the smaller devs, one flop can cause you to fold up.  They are trying to find any way they can to make money on this games, which are getting more and more costly to make.

I look at the Omni-blade being able to kill as less a normal blade that is stabbing someone but as a device that is telling the wears suit to overload and kill the person. Makes a little more sense to me then a hologram killing someone.

Not to be rude,but your 60 bucks only means that you can expect to get whatever they decide is part of the regular edition. That is the Full game and with bioware,maybe even a little more since they create bonus DLC that ships with new copies most of the time. What is on the disc is the full game.

Also Collector and pre-orders having no Significant reason for this content? It's the same reason for all that other stuff, because it encourages sales. It gives people who might not care that much about the phyical stuff the incentive to buy that edition or as another way to reward them. Pre-orders are generally created as part of deals made with Retailers so they have something that makes the customer want to buy the game from them instead of some other store.

I understand your feelings on the subject, but I don't agree with the stance that you and others have chosen. They create what is considered a full game by gaming standards and expect to be paid what is the standard price for a full game. Anything outside of that is Extra content that they didn't have to make availble to us.  Doesn't matter when they created it or why if they decide that it doesn't belong as part of the standard full game.

If you look closely, you can see that the models are slightly altered versions of ME2 DLC weapons. They are more than simple reskins, although the differences are pretty subtle in some cases. For the curious, they're altered from the Phalanx, Locust, Incisor, and Eviscerator.

You'll get the full game. So will people who intend to purchase the N7 Edition.

The N7 Edition will come with redeemable codes (ala ME2's CE) that will unlock bonus content. Mostly superficial bonus content. Content that was made specifically for the CE, and which would otherwise be non-existent if the devs decided not to associate the CE with extra content of any kind.

You're paying 60 bucks for the regular edition. The extra content in the CE is there as an incentive for people who want every piece of content made available to them, and as a bonus for those superfans who just want to buy the CE to satisfy their fan cravings. Nothing's being cut out of the full game for the benefit of CE buyers.

these are basically reskined weapons from ME2. kinda dissapointing, considering that ME2's weapons are said to make a return.

I hope these aren't the final designs.

The N7 sniper rifle is basically,(as all the others are) a reskin, but i hope it is single shot and powerful but has a respectable ammo count to compensate, there are always ammo upgrades at the weapon benches anyway.

I have a question, didnt want to make a new thread for it though, im not sure either way i think i remember jesse houston say you can on the E3 demo but is it also possible to change the colour of weapons while customizing ? dunno i just hated the colour of the mattock

No Vindicator love? The N7 arsenal looks cool and all, but I could never betray my favorite weapon. Apparently you'll be able to add up to five mods to a weapon. The gameplay that showed upgrades only had 2 mods, but maybe that's just with the overpowered Mattock or you'll have to buy weapon upgrade slots before you can add more mods.

I kind of hope they offer selective fire for this kind of thing... or basically just make all the ARs capable of full-auto fire. I don't want a situation like in ME2 where all the full-auto ARs are so weak they aren't worth using, the revenant notwithstanding of course.

(Then again, I won't have to mod my Adept to carry a Revenant this time round...)

if so, that sucks. If not, then let's hope the n7 weapons are just basic weapons but with more rune addition slots

They do have the most differences of any of the pairs, but they're still largely identical.  The only large difference is the stock on the N7 one.  The rest are just tiny tweaks: removed the back part of the grip, added a little extra bulk to the back of the scope, that sort of thing. But even details like specific grooves on the bodies are the same, as is the basic geometry.  And no, it doesn't particularly closely resemble the other sniper rifles (though the Viper and Mantis are pretty much identical to one another in terms of their basic geometry).

I don't particularly mind myself (as long as they have their own unique feel, that is), but as a guess?  I'm gonna say "People who didn't want new weapons that look almost exactly like ME2's guns."

I'm thinking that the reward for people using the same Shepard through all 3 games will be the N7 Assault Rifle.
