From the little we've seen so far, you can color me impressed (and totally turned on) by Vega, cannot wait to see him in action.

The only thing i'm not super excited about is what I've heard of his VA so far, but I'm not making any final judgements yet from just those few little lines.

Its not unreasonable to assume that Vega is just one of two new human characters that's either straight or bi. 

Look, I know it sounds like I'm being anti-gay and all. Truthfully, as a straight guy who knows a lot of gay men (and women), I'm fine with him being gay. It would be a great leap in the direction of sexual equality in a long overdue medium of entertainment. But 3/4ths of this thread seems to revolve around Vega being either gay or bisexual. Its on every page, in uncountable amounts of art work, and nearly half of the posts. 

I just don't want this to be his defining element as a character, and I'm afraid that that's what its become for many users.

There seem to be two major extremes on this character:

1. He's the ultimate dude-bro ****** stereotype, who works out, clubs at night, and jells his hair to the extreme.
2. He's the big softie gay guy who loves kittens (dunno where this idea came from, but w/e).

(3. There seems to be a minority in which people are like me, just relieved that we're getting a new character)

Same thing goes for Kaiden. Now, I like you and all Isaac, but I some how don't see the previous two straight VSs suddenly becoming bi-sexual when smoother and better character transitions could occur in either new NPCs, or NPCs that exhibited bi-sexual mannerisms (Jack, some would argue Thane, etc).

Its strange to me that these are the two extreme (and most prevailently talked about) aspects of Vega, especially considering that Tali, Miranda, and Ash don't get nearly this much attention to their sexuality.

And you don't see the point in your own post? You said it yourself. Straight guys had Tali, Miranda, Ash, Jack and other flings in this franchise. Gay guys will be getting a LI for the first time. So, can you blame people for being extra-excited lol? And it's not like the topic of romance (straight one) doesn't dominate Tali, Miranda, Ash & Jack's threads.

I think it's a perfect voice. His image/ body is already 'intimidating' in a sense which by having a softer voice Vega isn't in your face. Love it.

I agree with Isaac there. Romance does dominate most conversations on any character thread, and if you are to look in the Kaidan thread there is also a lot of emphasis on the possibilites/aspects of him becoming a s/s option. I think that same sex relationships are gaining the most attention because it is in fact is a feature now, where in the past it wasn't.

A little excited? Nope, I'm fine with that. But this has gone way past "extra excited" for a character who's sexuality hasn't been confirmed.

As for the straight men and women getting their own flings, this is very true. But that doesn't mean that those threads revolve around those characters sexual aspects.

It's like me (as a straight guy) going into the Tali, Miranda, or Ashley thread, and seeing mostly posts of these three in their underwear, shots of their asses, or users's romantic hopes for these characters, and almost nothing else. No matter how straight I am, it gets old fast and would make those threads hard to approach.

Now, I'm not saying that things like that never occur in those threads. I'm not saying that. But in this thread that's all that seems to matter.
