A lot of you guys talk about his sexuality often, and as a straight guy I can't really relate to the conversation too much...

The discussion of his sexuality is strictly related to the topic of romance. Believe me that I totally get that you can't relate much to it, because there are 9 straight romances and tons of lesbian flings & romances topics/discussins that I can't relate  too much as a gay guy. So ya know, I don't think you've got it that bad lol

By the way, despite his piggy-face, James has a wonderful smile.  His whole face changes.  It's like a real, honest-to-jeebus smile.  Wow, animators.  Wow.

Shepard may be a superhero but s/he is also Space Oprah. Do you have any theories what James' personal problem is that Shepard will have to help him overcome and regain his self esteem? My theory is that his child sister was killed in a military action and he blames himself for not being able to save her.

Am I the only who's really impressed by the way his chin casts a realistic shadow onto his neck? The lighting physics are looking SO much better in the new footage than in the previous games. I think I'm more excited about that than anything else.

I get distracted by that neck tat  but yea I see what you mean.

As I'm currently playing through ME1 (making my femShep for Vega) it's amazing to see how much the character's looks have evolved graphics wise. Makes me even more excited for March if possible.

Yes, I really see a huge difference in that and the graphics in general. I'm really excited about this, and the Bioware team seems to have put a lot of effort into making this game into something beautiful.

improved graphics+ awesome sound+ stirring music+ more character depth/banter = win

I actually agree with you I think its this guy as well, H. Jon Benjamin. I think he sounds like Vega, especially in this video

Since you guys are kinda talking romance, here's a Shepard/Alenko/Vega triangle scenario. Speculating on his personality is hard given how little information we have, but this dialogue deals with Fehl. I'm interested in shaping a plausible personality for Vega, so let me know how he sounds.

Shepard: Why weren't you on the shuttle?
Vega: Wha -?
Shepard: Why are you suddenly being targeted by Batarian mercenaries? Why do I have to hear about it from Kaidan? Why does Kaidan know more about your life right now than I do, James?
Vega: *sigh* Well, because apparently Kasumi Goto has a very big mouth. And oh, how I bet Alenko loved being on the recieving end of that bit of news."
Shepard: "You know what, can we just stick to the point please?"
Vega: "Honestly, I'm sure he loved that, you know. Now he's salivating, the guy gets to swoop in on his soul mate with a big fat I told you so."
Shepard: "Are you delusional? Kaidan has zero to do with this, James."
Vega: "Yeah, sure"
Shepard: *pause* "D'you have any idea how insulting it is that I come up last on your list of people to contact in case of an emergency?"
Vega: "Shepard, this is not that big a deal, you know. I'm handling it."
Shepard: "And how does skipping assignments qualify as handling anything, James? *pause* Why does this even surprise me?"
Vega: "What exactly is that supposed to mean?"
Shepard: *frustrated* "Exactly what I said. This is how you deal with everyting. You run away. You take the easy way out every time. "
Vega: "I guess that's why I'm such a loser. "
Shepard: "You know what, you're not a loser James. I didn't spend my time with a loser... building what I thougt was an incredible foundation for a relationship. I thought we made a great team. *pause* Guess I couldn't have been more wrong."
